PS3 is on the top list, mainly is because the exclusive Final Fantasy XIII. However, some exclusive titles like MGS and Devil May Cry 4 also draw my attention. For the PC, I would make some upgrade after Vista released. Not planning to get the Wii and Xbox 360.

I believe the PC rules if you've got the right components for it. Which I don't have at the moment . But still, I like PCs.

Some news for Aussies:

The Australian PS3 launch has been delayed until March next year, because of a shortage of parts for the Blu-Ray drives. The Japan and US launch will go ahead as scheduled. (Bojan already posted this, my bad)

Also, the Wii will not cost more than AU$330.

yeh i think the ps3 will be the best, but i wont be getting it for a while...i have better things to spend $999 on then a console. i have the 360 and that is good..i dont know why alot of people say its shiznit...i havnt had any problems with it.

There are gonna be 500,000 PS3 consoles out in Nov11 and 17

100,000 in Japan
400,000 in USA (including Canada )

80% is $600 ps3
20% is $500 ps3

I got the Xbox360 yesterday and I must say that I'm very impressed.
The game I started with is Oblivion (which I also own for the pc) and the game feel difference is extraordinary. First of all the screen is much bigger (32" compared to 17"), but what is really important is that the game constantly works at a good framerate - on the PC it worked from poor most of the time to terrible at specific locations. Also the graphics quality is about the same as on pc with everything on the max.

Yeah..but I bet the xbox360 games are as expensive too..compared to the Pc editions

That they are: 75EUR vs 45EUR.
But still, the Xbox360 costs 400EUR once per 4-5 years while the PC costs 400EUR once every 2 years. Not to mention the satisfaction is much higher with a console since there's only one graphical setting available. With 400EUR per 2 years pc you'll play everything on med-low settings 50%+ of the time.

Nowadays consoles aren't just gaming plaforms, they're multimedia centres. IMO in a few years these consoles will replace our pcs, tv, radio..the way we entertain ourselves whilst sitting in Laz-e-boys

The games industry itself is a very aggressive market, i mean if a customer buys an Xbox 360 instead of a PS3, its just not the sale of the console the lost, but also the potential sale of games for the PS3 format, which can lead to a higher loss of sales/profits. There's a lot competition, because of the sheer amount of money is made through licensing alone (which is genereally why its cheaper to makes games for PC).

I think basderq is right, that every multimedia device is gonna converge sooner or later... I wonder what the games idustry would be like, if there was only one format, like movies and music. If you could buy a Playstation game and run it on any standardised games conole console, almost like buying a movie and playing it one any dvd player...hmmm, maybe its time for me to get back to work

PC games (new releases) are $60. So are new release 360 games. So the price is the same.

I go by korge on the 360 if anyone is interested.


Btw, most of all the 360 games at the moment suck, graphics wise. With as much power it has, you would figure you would see so much better looking games.

Hmm i must say Xbox 360 but im trying to sell my xbox and ninteno 64 and Limited edition PS2 well i think its limited edition anyways once i sell them ill get a Xbox 360 and TDU
