“The next detail Kazunori touched on was regarding damage models. I can confirm that not every car in Gran Turismo 5 will sport damage models — it will only be select sets. However, Kazunori has yet to decide on a finalized list of featured car types for damage support.”
A bit disappointing but no biggie. I'm just happy to see that they're gradually stepping into the world of damage.

read da whole thing and check out the comments below heres what im thinking is gunna happen

damage will be in GT5 :) but only towards selected cars witch im guessing is only race cars cuz there race cars not the stock factory cars ;( damage looks like its similiar 2 forza, im pissed but jeandoerpinghous might be right, cuz when they unveiled gt5 prologue they were stil working on the game till the last minute sooo, im pissed right now but it may turn out good so just hve 2 wait and see (also putting damage on bout 1000 cars is a pain in the ass) chec out gt5 at ign

i typed dis as a comment on utube explaining whats probebly gunna happen

By ‘premium’ models, I’m pretty sure they mean all 170 of them will (obviously) have damage and interior views, while the remaining 830 vehicles will not feature damage, nor interior views.

Still, I think it’s a good achievement, considering GT3 had about 180 cars, which seemed to be enough.

Don't forget about the additional downloadable cars, once GT5 is released.

all cars will hve interior views, 170 will hve interior and exterior damage and i believe those with damage r racecars cuz there not the companies cars (well yeah the brand) but owned by a racing team, no matter what this game will be great and well have 2 deal with not having damage (if there is no damage on normal models) just like with prologue

It never said anywhere that all cars will have interior views. It only mentioned the 170 premium models.
Have you seen the very fine detailed textures in these cars? They'd take hundreds of manhours each to replicate to perfection. 1000 sounds a bit far-fetched to me, considering only a handful of people at Polyphony out of the 140 employees actually model the cars.

I highly doubt it... but I hope you're correct :P.

No, it's true that not all cars will have DAMAGE. Mr. Yamauchi hasn't said anything about interior views.

The main GT5 game terminal at gamescom:

I didn't get to play it from inside the car though, just a normal stationary seat and steering wheel.

I don't know which I'd rather stare at... the car, the game, or the hips on that girl. O.O

Hahaha, that's pretty ingenious though, if I do say so myself.

Will the car-shaped controller be included with the game? :P

Now the game has been set in concrete for 2009:
http://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-5s ... confirmed/

And also, if you were a wee bit disappointed in the damage system first shown to us last week, it's apparently the "first step" in what PD wish to accomplish. Downloadable updates will also improve it over time. But we already knew that...

Yeah, I'd say so. If the damage is going to be as simplified as we saw in the videos, it shouldn't be that difficult to implement on all cars. I mean, I don’t see the car chassis folding into itself, or any real crumple zones. Just body panels flapping about.

if GT5 had customisation the car manufactuars will have no problem with cars recieving damage (if its the manufacters that dont really want damage) thats probably why forza has damage on all cars, customization is key

Yep, back to 2010... because of the damage complaints:

http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=120744

But turns out ALL cars will now have some form of damage.

Anyway, some sexy new pictures of the Merc SLS:

Custom rims have been a part of Gran Turismo Since GT2... so you can pretty much guarantee they will be included in GT5. As for spoilers... they were really in GT4 purely to adjust downforce, not for styles sake.

I don't think there will be aftermarket bodykits available though. Really not needed, IMO.
