That is really amazing news. I guess that now GT5 is set to be the ultimate racing game on the PS3. Maybe even everywhere once its released somewhere around March.

Wonder what the price of those 170 premium cars will be...with interior damage modelling!?!? Has anybody ever seen a racing game which has interior damage modelling?

Once again, Polyphony Digital with GT5 raise the bar to new heights.

I was just about to post that! And I absolutely love it. 8) .
Might buy two versions of the game. One I'll use, and one to keep in mint condition.

I too am wondering what they are going to do for interior damage. The only real thing I can think of is the windshield smashing, and the roof caving in a bit. What else is needed in a game?

I guess that is what we have to wait and see.

So they did it again... how original.

Shouldn't be any concern for the rest of us, considering it's only the Japanese version. To me this means there will be a better chance of it becoming a worldwide release.

Also, keep in mind that this is the first official delay of GT5.

one of many you mean :P

If they can't finish the JDM release in time, then they worldwide release will be later also.

Yeah, you're probably right about the first of many delays. :)

Polyphonys biggest mistake was when they announced GT5 so early. If they announced it a year, or only a few months ago, everyone wouldn't be whining in the youtube comments section of EVERY GT5 video.

Something PD can learn from EA.

I do think it can be a very good game... (can't say that I know it will be...of course)
And I'm very interested in it...even though I don't have a PS3.

But like you said, if they can learn anything from EA it's how to publish information and releasedates etc.

Sorta getting tired of waiting, maybe forza 3 was recently released just to occupy us while we wait for GT5 lol

Probably, but thing is, Polyphony likes making everything perfect. This is why when something like Gran Turismo 5 comes out, there are going to be very little bugs in it. Maybe a couple in online but probably only in online.

The damage engine looks okay for now, if only we could have a better look at it then it could show the extent of the damage in normal production cars.

I liked the first video but I just felt that it was a bit "retro-ish" to be the opening video of GT5, still pretty exciting.
Didn't get to watch all of the second vid, watched roughly half of it but what I saw was pretty good.

yeah needs some epic music for an intro, like the fat lady singing in GT4 intro  . (apparently it isnt over when the fat lady sings lol, its quite the opposite)

Just an interesting little factoid I found out the other day. GT5 has so far cost Polyphony Digital over $30million USD to make.
Along with that all cars ingame in GT4 averaged about 4000 polygons. In GT5 they average 400,000 polygons...

All I can say OMG, I can't wait to get this and I am so glad I just got myself a PS3 :D

Though I have a feeling that for the first time in my life I actually want to get something like the G27 to play the game. However I am more interested in getting something more realistic. I have a racing wheel in the shed (real one) I wonder if I could mount that to the yoke...

I remember there was a similar glitch in GT3, using the Escudo Pikes Peak. They will definitely fix that one before GT5!^

Although I had an important exam today, I stayed up to watch the preview of Gran Turismo 5 until 4am. It was worth it. Just... holy smeg!!! Look at the glorious videos and pictures of the game.

I especially love this preview of the day/night cycle. Obviously (I think) the time of day wont change that quickly in GT Mode. Look at how beautiful it looks. :!:

I'll be buying a copy of the collectors edition, thanks. :P

um goin with colectors edition also, in the trailer did u notice the damage on the evoX it looks pretty decent. I also saw a Murcialago LP640, now for the game to be complete for me is a LP670-4 SV and customization, plus have u seen the new tire smoke affects? here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVlcSyLF ... r_embedded# skip to 2:05 for soe good smoke demonstration

You shouldn't be worried one bit about the LP670-4 SV not making it into the game.

Although I don't really care all that much about damage, I still like the look of the deformation on the EVO X. As it's a 'standard' car, the damage has really exceeded my expectations.

Smoke as improved... and it's looking good. I wish the smoke and dirt in rally would linger in the air for a bit longer though. It seems to disappear way too fast, which takes away the realism.
Also, I don't like the sudden overkill use of sparks. Two body panels (made from carbon fibre!) which slightly rub together should not produce sparks. I'm confident PD will fix this in the next few months.
