yup ive already seen those pics, forgot to post, shame on me, but seriously like the PSboards/forums has like all the news instantly, i was actually just gunne go there right now
Well I was almost done and was in first place and of course my car ran out of gas on the long strait away.LancerEvoFan0504 wrote:That sounds like a good idea but instead of Volvo's I'll use the old Volkswagen Beetle instead. Don't expect it to come out soon. If you try and rush things they come out sloppy. the game probably won't come out for 3-5 years so be prepared for a long wait.Zotic+ wrote:goldmine from TGS:

2 years is my guess, its not like there totally rebuilding the game again, its just adding in more features and fixing any problems and perfecting things.LancerEvoFan0504 wrote:LancerEvoFan0504 wrote:Don't expect GT6 to come out soon. Well, unfortunately for you, they are Premium cars. The point is, Premium cars don't necessarily have to be cars that can go at more than 300 km per hour. It's about taking cars that became famous for a reason. In this case, the Kubelwagen and Swchimmwagen were cars that changed World War II and the Samba bus was a symbol of the hippie movement.TheStig wrote:looks really good I must say.
But I really hope they didn't add the VW Kubelwagen, swimwagen and T1 Bus as premium cars.... (but something tells me they did) because.... why do we need them in a racing game.
Sure it can be fun as extras, but please... not one of the 200 premium cars... there are so many cars that are better suited for being premiums.
SHUT UP!!TheStig wrote:We could just as well add a Willys jeep and the first Land Cruiser
Well one possible reason for these cars making an appearance in the game, that also as a Premium car, could be Kazunori Yamauchi. According to Jordan (the founder of GTPlanet), he seems to be an admirer of odd and unusual automobiles which would explain the presence of these three Volkswagens and of the Patent Motor Wagen and Ford Model T in GT4.TheStig wrote:Nice history lesson, but what does that have to do with a RACING game?
We could just as well add a Willys jeep and the first Land Cruiser, how about that, just to complete the history aspect of it all...
Look I'm all for cars that add something in terms of racing history, but I think GT4 went to far already by adding useless cars like the Benz Patentwagen or a Model T Ford.
Sure it was fun.... for a few minutes, but what good is a car if you can't even finish a race, and I don't mean that you don't finish in time.
But with the Benz you couldn't reach the finish line on the Nordschleife..... you just didn't have enough power to get up a hill... and YES I tried it.
I don't mind cars that are not really race worthy, but I don't think they should make them premium that is imo wasted resources.....
I lol'dRacemaniac wrote:By the way, when you said "nice history lesson," were you being sarcastic?
Like I said in the previous post, it could be because Kazunori wanted it in the game and so it became part of it. And I think that he would have preferred that they were made premium.jacoja06 wrote:I'm struggling to think of anyone who really wanted a Nazi Jeep to be part of the premium car list in GT5.
Since when was Gran Turismo a racing game?jacoja06 wrote:and I think that valuable time could have gone towards something more suitable for a racing game.
Well since the goal of the game is to finish first... isn't it? so that makes it a racing game.Koenigsegg_Rox wrote:Since when was Gran Turismo a racing game?jacoja06 wrote:and I think that valuable time could have gone towards something more suitable for a racing game.
Last time I checked it was a driving game, which actually makes a lot more difference than some people here would like to think.
Gran Turismo is a driving simulator. After all it is called Gran Turismo the real driving simulator not Gran Turismo the real racing game.TheStig wrote:Well since the goal of the game is to finish first... isn't it? so that makes it a racing game.Koenigsegg_Rox wrote:Since when was Gran Turismo a racing game?jacoja06 wrote:and I think that valuable time could have gone towards something more suitable for a racing game.

Last time I played Gran Turismo, in order to actually progress through the game I needed to finish first in single races, and championship races. Racing is the main focus of Gran Turismo... It is a racing game.Koenigsegg_Rox wrote:Since when was Gran Turismo a racing game?jacoja06 wrote:and I think that valuable time could have gone towards something more suitable for a racing game.
Actually the main focus in the game is driving cars not racing but you do race in it so it is considered a racing game but the main focus of the game is to experience driving.jacoja06 wrote:Last time I played Gran Turismo, in order to actually progress through the game I needed to finish first in single races, and championship races. true thatPSZeTa wrote:FFS.. Driving, racing.. Perhaps Polyphony Digital emphasizes the ''driving'' aspect more, but a discussion whether it's actually a driving or racing game? Christ, that shiznit's irrelevant.
Can you imagine a few guys in a room, ranting on how it's a driving or racing game? If I would be hearing that conversation, I would knock myself out with a hard facepalm. It's because nobody really cares.
You can drive while you race and you can race while you drive.
