Colin McRae DiRT
Re: Colin McRae DiRT
this game is awesome compared to the upcoming sega rally... sega rally looks like crap.
Re: Colin McRae DiRT
Jebus, this game is very demanding in terms of hardware. I downloaded the demo and I was barely getting high 20s fps with everything setting to the bare minimum!

This is gettin very off-topic.
Does anybody know the full car-list of DiRT?

You can find it on Google.
Codemasters claims that the PS3 version will be better than the 360's.

This is an older topic, I know, but the PS3 demo has been released on the PS Store. I'll try it once I get it installed.

Re: Colin McRae DiRT
It's pretty good. You only get 3 cars and 3 tracks, but it's worth getting for free. You get a buggy for CORR, a Citroen C4 for general point to point, and a Subey WRX Spec C for Super Special Stage. That's pretty hard on medium if you haven't gotten used to the handling yet.
Re: Colin McRae DiRT
the handling is confusing. you don't know when to brake or when to take it at full throttle, because it is a huge mix of oversteer and understeer. the damage is amazing, but it is harder than i thought to roll the subaru upside down.

I hate to say it, but appart from cornering(when you need to brake, and when you're fine to fly through. The game is fairly easy. I played for about 3 hours, and I was already told to use the Pro difficulty.

Re: Colin McRae DiRT
Have you got the X360/PC one? Darn, I have to wait for ages before I get it.
Yeah the handling is pretty confusing. When I was in the C4 I went crooked off a jump, and because it's front-heavy I smash the front in and cartwheeled a few times. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!Fishwhiz wrote:the handling is confusing. you don't know when to brake or when to take it at full throttle, because it is a huge mix of oversteer and understeer. the damage is amazing, but it is harder than i thought to roll the subaru upside down.

I played the X360 one. I may buy it if it's on sale some time soon.
Re: Colin McRae DiRT
the damage is some of the most realistic ive seen for the front of the car. the only side damage it receives is falling off doors, which is dumb.

Re: Colin McRae DiRT

What the heck are you talking about?
I've played it last week on PC, pretty good. First day I though the steering sucked, but you just gotta practice.. Still, I think the steering is a bit too direct.. Brakes are weird too.. It's got the best ABS ever, because I alway break without slipping.. Plus I think it's unrealistic when you put the pedal against the metal in a corner, the car's back won't break out! Too many grip, even on Sand! So IMO Forza 2 has a better handling system.
Re: Colin McRae DiRT
the steering wheel dont suck, imo, you need to practice loads untill you get used to it, im already used to it and i think this game kicksass
if you want my controller settings for steering wheel, ill tell you if you want

I'm using a PS2 Analog controller, no steering wheel..ImJ wrote:the steering wheel dont suck, imo, you need to practice loads untill you get used to it, im already used to it and i think this game kicksass

But, have you driven the Peugeot 207 already? OMG, that thing is like a RC car!

I'll revive this topic again with the news that I don't think there will be any more Colin McRae games anytime soon:

Re: Colin McRae DiRT
Does that really have much to do with the game? I mean, I know the game has 'Colin McRae' in the name, but that's about it, right?
