Call of Duty 2 Server

Post by BrontoX »

OK i don't know where to put this so i am putting it here.

Ok, i want to make a Call of Duty 2 Server that everyone can join but i don't know how. And we already tried to make it by the in-game server making but it doesn't work. We don't have a router so there is no problem with port forwarding.
So can you help us make a server please?

Unless you have a dedicate machine just for running the server which is on 24/7 and fiber optics to your house, don't even bother.
Otherwise as others suggested, if you want a game server, rent it. There's lots of providers and some can be pretty cheap (check out german providers).

We can run a server 24/7 we have a PC with 3.2 MBPS so it's no problem we just need help on making the server.

Well if you want a pure server, try getting a Intel Xeon, that is designed for servers, well most servers are based on them

Also, most web servers have 500 - 1000 mbit lines, but I don't know about game servers. It all depends how many clients you want to cater for really.

Good luck, but the advice stays: renting.
