Has anybody imported this from Japan yet? I got it a couple of hours ago, however, um...it's still loading all the data onto the HDD...

Of course, but considering a release date hasn't even been confirmed for where I live, I'll take what I can get even if it means that I have to get translation screens.

EDIT: The majority of the problems in GTHD have been fixed up, there are now working rearview mirrors in the interior view, and depending on the car you're using, a nice feature is both Left-Hand Steering and Right-Hand Steering (although so far only the R8 has had the former, but no doubt the 'Vette, Viper and 'Stang will too). I actually use the rearviews all the time. And unlike games like Juiced 2 and TDU, you can actually see out of the car in interior view! Physics engine is quite different and more realistic than the GTHD demo, and it feels great, there are only a couple of niggles I have with it:

1. They still haven't mastered landings on jumps, feels like a hovercraft when you land, too smooth to be real.

2. Despite being just a prologue, damage could have been nice. You don't just bounce off walls when you crash like you would in RR7 though, which is good

While there isn't any Top Gear eps yet, the GTTV is pretty good, showing off the making of the GTR, a Chrissy vid, D1 drifting, all the good stuff.

Unlike GT4 Prolougue, some of the missions are quite hard, like the R8 race with an F430 that's 35 secs ahead of you, and some of the Lightweight K Cup races are a bit difficult as well if you don't know the best spots to brake.

Overall, I'm definitely happy, especially with the fact that I managed to fight the urge to sell my PS2 Driving Force Steering Wheel, it works like a dream on this!!

It says it will be released on March the 27th, though when I asked the desk at EB Games, they said it will be released Mid-April. Whichever it is, I can't wait to finally get a hard copy of the game (And luckily I now have a PS3 :) ).

You'd rather let this slip past for another year or so? Strange
Remember it doesn't cost the same as a full game either.

Yeah, but what would you wanna get a game that only has 60 cars where you can wait for sometime and get the same game with 700 cars, all tracks & features ?

but, i havent decided yet, so i'll wait for the reviews and see if its worth the money.

NFS: Pro Street is considered a full game (well, EA thinks :P), and it only has 55 cars, so I think 60 highly detailed cars with 16-players online is pretty good for something considered as a demo (and costs less). Maybe it's just me, but I think a demo from Polyphony Digital is a more complete game then PRG4, with it's half-arsed damage physics and graphics... So it seems like a good buy.

Sorry, the Gran Turismo franchise will only ever be sold under sony, so you’ll have to get a Playstation.

GT5... The full version which comes out sometime in 2009 will have about 700 cars and downloadable content, but Prologue will only have about 60 cars :)

Didn't you ever play, or hear about GT4?

Afaik they don't need money to give them for the cars, I think the car producers give them money for advertising the cars .. just an opinion.

Nope they have to get the licenses of the cars and pay for the rights to use the logo's etc.
Companies like Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren etc are very expensive to get licenses from.

So it's different from the movies, I mean if a Nokia model would appear in a movie, Nokia would pay for that, since it's advertising. Looks like, in the games is upside down.
