Why do people constantly bash Nintendo?

Like Koenigsegg_Rox called the GameCube crap, it's not that bad. It was aimed at kids and casual gamers. Unlike the PS2 and Xbox. The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Sunshine/Mario Kart (sorta), Resident Evil 4... they were great games.

Same with the Wii. People bash it. Well yeah, it's no PS3 or 360... but again, it's more of a casual console. Although Nintendo do seem to be focusing on a mature audience with the Wii with games like The House of the Dead: Overkill, No More Heroes, Dead Rising: Chop 'Til You Drop, etc.

...So yeah, why all the hate?

The word 'casual' will ruin gaming, Soon nintendo will be the only brand making consoles full of casual crappy games for younger kids I suppose.... My opinion

The market for video gaming is about 20. Most 20 sumthings I know play shooters, rpgs with swords, or sim racers.

Nintendo is kind of hurting themselves but since their name is sooo huge and has such history, it cant really die in this market.

GameCube: PS2 absolutely obliterated both in sales and in game quality. The PS2 had casual family and kiddy games as well you know

Wii: I bash it because the only game I believe that appeals to people who actually buy a console to PLAY GAMES, is Super Smash Bros Brawl. And possibly Mario Kart Wii. Whereas PS3 and Xbox 360 appeal to the hardcore gamers, that actually buy a console to play real games (entertainment qualities aside). And don't bring the Wii's sales into this as well. That's simply because there's more under-16s who think no matter how repetitive and boring Mario and Pokemon are they still believe its "omgub3r4w350m3", in this world than hardcore gamers. The end.

i noticed that there aren't very many people who have to mail in their PS3 or Wii. i've mailed in my 360 twice in the two years i've had it. the thing is is that the 360 has the highest number of games with high ratings between the PS3 and Wii. you don't have to pay for PSonline either. where as XBOX LIVE requires either membership cards or a paid subscription via credit card.

but i wouldn't give up my 360 if my life depended on it(especially now that Halo Wars came out yesterday )

I have a Wii downstairs in the main entertainment center for anyone to use... it's really great for social thingys when you have more than one person to play with.

My 360, however, is at my desk with my computer, so if I decide I want to play it I just press a button on the monitor and suddenly I'm playing in full HD with Xbox Live, since I normally only play it by myself. That's actually why I bought it. I have the Wii to play with friends, and the 360 with Live for when I'm home alone.

i agree. the Wii is a perfect family/friends console for casual gamers.

The family isn't really entertained by video games. Wii Sports was fun the first few times, then we all got bored and pulled out Guitar Hero 2 back in the days when my mate still had his PS2. If only it didn't cost fkn 80 bucks for a bloody controller for my 360.

i hate buying controllers for my 360 as well. so damn expensive all the time. another guitar was about $65 last time i looked. IT REDICULOUS!!! (that's inflation for you though....)

i use a 360 controller for my PC.

I played Gears of War on my PC and it was a better experience that what I had on the 360.

i think it's easy to say that no controller is cheap. unless its not a next-gen controller. if i'm not mistaken, even the Wii-mote is more than $20.

Amazingly, this hasn't happened yet. Probably because of my obsession of making people strap it to their arm, because no way in hell am I getting ANOTHER smaller TV.

I HATE the wii-mote. Its cool for about the first week, but then you realize its just like the Iphone. Its cool and unique, but it cant perform some of the most basic functions of a normal phone.

You cant even navigate the menu without HAVING to point at it. And usually the sensorbar wants to be an idiot.

yes, its the best HALO product since HALO1. its a lot of fuyn watching a scarab blowup a UNSC military base especially knowing you made it do so yes, HALO WARS is loads of fun and i need to get it very soon.

How do you play strategy games with a gamepad? Or do you use a mouse?

It works perfectly with a pad, sure you don't have commands like with the PC, but it does work pretty well, I tought it wouldn't work aswell but I played C&C on the 360 and it was pretty nice, same goes for Halo Wars.
