skate. (and skate 2)
skate. (and skate 2)
I just bought this game today and now I'm never going back to lame Tony Hawk games. I was playing American Wasteland and OMFG do they have horrible voice acting. It's like a four year old wrote the script. example: "You just got powned noob!"
Skate is the shiznit. Having a ton of fun with it but I seem to find it extremely hard to nail tricks at times (specifically nollie 360 flip) Loving the choice of decks, but I wish I could make my fave color combo like on the Tony Hawk games. Vibrant orange deck with blue wheels. :p I also have trouble with a lot of the camera missions. Can't really find a good place to complete all of the required tricks. Most of them fit into the skatepark in Suburbs.

Re: skate. (and skate 2)
Yes skate is definitely the shiz. I played THP8 on PS3 after I completed skate and I was thinking "how in the hell could they f*** this up soo bad?" Skate is certainly the best skating game ever and I soooo can't wait for the release of skate it. You can finally get off your board now...very sweet. I know practically all the flip tricks off by heart and I always win in a game of S.K.A.T.E. (540 360 Inward Heelflip down the XGAMES ramp to 900 Nollie 360 Flip to manual to 900 360 Inward Heelflip FTW)

I'm reserving Skate 2, Skate was just to nice not to be played.

Re: skate. (and skate 2)
Well last I heard it was called skate it? And I know it's already out. On the Wii of all things...
Re: skate. (and skate 2)
Skate It is the nintendo version of Skate, because the Wii and DS don't have enough graphics power to utilize Skate.
If you're talking about the Skate that's coming out, then that's Skate 2.

Neither skate nor skate 2 are released for PCs, therefore they suck.

Re: skate. (and skate 2)
That's cause PC would absolutely and totally fail for the flickit control system. Therefore it wins, and you fail.
Re: skate. (and skate 2)
That's what everyone who hasn't heard about mice yet thinks, but I think it would work great with mice. And if I could use my tiltwheel for stuff, that would be awesome. Anyways, I flame every game not released for PC ruthlessly. And the developers and publishers too. Except if it's released later (if it's crappy, then no exception) or if it sucks on the consoles too. Games should be released for everything, I mean it really wouldn't be such a big deal they want us to believe it is. It's all just manipulation and business stuff.

I bet you don't complain when we get PC exclusives, though, right?
I mean seriously... the only plus PC really has, atm, is the internet - because we all know what gamers do with games on the internet.
Skate 2 is awesome. I just don't want to pay almost $70 for it.

Of course I don't complain. Though that kind of ruins the idea.

Re: skate. (and skate 2)
It wouldn't work with mice. Not even my omgub3r4w3s0m3 Logi VX Revolution would be even remotely decent with it. Skate is MEANT to be played with a controller, and I doubt flicking your mouse around and either spraining your wrist or accidentally throwing your mouse onto the floor and breaking it in two would be the best of ideas. Not to mention Shuvits would be hard to do, and even harder to keep a combo going with them.peterfaj wrote:That's what everyone who hasn't heard about mice yet thinks, but I think it would work great with mice. Re: skate. (and skate 2)
Like I said, you've got wheel and maybe a tilt wheel. I'm sure they could make something. But if everything else fails, I'd buy a gamepad (not a console tho')
Re: skate. (and skate 2)
I love skate. and Skate 2, tho both were waay too easy and waay too short.

Agreed, I've played through skate three times already. I'm kind of having second thoughts about skate 2, though.

Re: skate. (and skate 2)
Bought Skate 2 yesterday and played it for 8 hours straight, loads of fun. Played it for another 6 hours today and finished it. So opinions:
Less replayability than the first one
Lots of more detail
No streets or anything on the minimap, I dislike losing the specific regions of the town.
Spinning take a lot more effort.
Challenges were actually challenging, I threw my PS3 controller on the floor.
and there's more, but meh. It's harder to discover cool spots when there are no streets on the minimap. The first Skate seemed more organized, but it got old so I bought this, and it's $50 well spent.

I hate EA. If they happen to do something right, it's console only.

Boo hoo.
Re: skate. (and skate 2)
I have to agree with peterfaj, lol. At least their sport-oriented games are good, even though I've only played the skate games and SSX3.
