Help for burnout paradise

Post by reputated »

i've just installed burnout paradise the ultimate box on my pc. i can't seem to get good frame rates. the main prob is the resolution won't go less than 800x600. in crysis i was able to bring it down to 640x480 using command line tweaks.

is there any way to increase performance of the game by lowering the reso. of the game to 640x480? are there any other ways to inccrease performance (plz dont suggest a new gfx card)

thnx

it won't go lower than 800 even if you change the launcher's icon. Only thing i can suggest is to overclock your GPU and or CPU. I can get by with my 6200 just well with system tweaks here and there.

...this would be one of those times.

Go online and look for some cheap graphics cards. A $100 card should be able to pull you through.

What CPU do you have, though?

Have you tried turning that SSAO thing off? Turning it off helps lots of people.

here's my pc-
1 gb ddr 2 ram
intel core 2 duo 2.2ghz
ati radeon 2400 pro

i get good frames when i turn all the effects off. but i want to lower the resolution.

i also have another prob. -
i installed Alone in the dark recently, but it fails to run. it gives an error saying - ' the cnfiguration is incorrect, reinstallation may solve the prob. '

i don't get it. someone told me it's because my gfx card is incapable. is it so?

You probably can't lower it any more. And your graphics card IS pretty weak.

It may be because it's a console-to-pc port. Most of those have turned out pretty laggy. (GTAIV, Halo 2)

From the resources I've come to believe that Alone in the Dark ( Australian PCPOWERPLAY 4/10 by my recolection) is terrible so I wouldn't bother if I were you. Paradise would be a more graphically demanding game anyway
