Well, surely I can't sit with a stock game.
I started to work on a 4WD part of the champioinship. I plan to reskin the whole 4WD section according to the WRC official FIA livery that teams used throughout last years.

Ford Focus will get the DARK BLUE TEAM RS livery (fairly easy)

Citroen will get the Telefonica Livery (moderate difficulty)

Subaru will get the 2002-2003 livery with WRC swoosh (easy)

Mitsubishi will get the Lancer WRC04 livery or Evo7 livery from 2002 - marlboro. (very difficult)

Peugeot 206 - marlboro livery total, of 2003 Pug (VERY difficult)

I will also launch a site to host my project work on that. Let's hope it will all go to plan.

Here is an update. All done on Subi, except the Swoosh - not sure if it's worth changing it...
But here is a list of more updated stuff.

1. STI logo on the rear arch.
2. STI Performance and MOTUL logos on front
3. Removed USA flags
4. Shifted the Number on the roof to the back (not visible i guess.)
5. Pirelli logos on the rear bumper.
6. PZero label on the Pirelli tires.
7. Subaru USA rally logo on the hood was replaced by Subaru SWRT.
8. CF sideview mirrors.
9. Pirelli/Alpinestar logos on near front doors.
10. Robin Logo on the front/rear bumpers-fenders.
11. No mroe STI logo on the spoiler.
12. No more STI and WRX badges on the trunk, replaced by the clips, same as on the front hood.

Ok, I think it's more time consuming, than tough.

Here is a 20 minute work on the swoosh. It has the right shadows, and I think looks decent enough. I've only done 1 side, but obviously I think it's good enough to carry on and make the other and the trunk.

Oh, and this will be Peter Solberg's Championship winning Impreza, 2003 livery.

So, more or less complete. What do you think? I like it, much better than the original car.

How long did it take you to do the hole thing?

3 hours with breaks. Not much. But I got all subaru logos, graphics, fonts already, and know enough on it to work without many references. So Add an hour for research if you start from scratch, so 4 hours. Not too quick..

But I saw some off your NFSU vinyls, and I think (know for sure ) you can do it. Lots of succes with it!

Well, let's say that CMR4 is about 20 times harder to make a skin for - because I am basically redoing the 3D texture of the car, and this is VERY hard. I have to replicate all the shadows and so on. In NFSU, all you do is put a 2D picture on a car. Here is a diffferent story. But i'm pretty enthus about it, so I hope i'll get it done. There is nothing like it outhere right now, otherwise I wouldn't bother. Plus it's a better chance to learn PSP more.

And here is the next car. Subaru WRC99 - it's a Bonus car, but I always like the old Impreza and its cool look. So here is a Subaru WRC99 skin.

Ok, I edited the previous post here. Project complete!

Changes:
1. RS logos on side, hood, bumpers and trunk
2. FordFocus logo on the sides and trunk
3. Debadge 'focus' from rear trunk, no lock on the trunk.
4. pirelli logos on the sides.
5. RS logo on the radiator, shown through the front air intake.
6. Body colored sidewiew morrors, white handles, and other moldings colored in blue as well.
7. All colors on white were adjusted to have that yellowish/shadow look.
8. Alpha channel redone, all reflections are good, and don't show through.
9. Interior recolored
10. side numbers and roof number redone, resized
11. Tech Partners logo on the doors/Martini/Telefonica logos
12. Roof has all RS logos, Ford Focus.

I always sortof hated the non official skins on the PS2

Yes, one thing have just some designer to make something 'similar' to the WRC, but not close enough to get into trouble with FIA and the teams - and another - pay full license not only to all car makers, but their technical sponsors (20 in average - from brakes, to engine, to plugs, to paint, tires, and so on...). SO they do it the cheap way.

But I am working on Peugeot right now, and it's so hard, I can't even describe, I'm afraid I bit off more than I can chew. however, if I manage it, than I can do anything with the rest of cars, for sure! Pics are on the way.

I've done it! The Ferrari of Rallying, 206 WRC 2003 skin if fully complete!! I didn't put the Marlboro logo, as if the Tabacco laws, but I was just lazy No, I actually like it this way.

So the changes:
1. All stickers from the fenders, to sideview mirrors, to bumpers are exactly replcacated.
2. Full 2003 WRC livery, as seen on Marcus Gronholm/Richard Burns cars in 2003 season. This car bears the #1 of 2002 champ Marcus Gronholm.
3. Interior is color coded to the exterior.
4. marlboro red - very close color, down to PMS number.
5. Had to fully remake shadows on the textures (biggest time spent on that of course!)
Well, it's perfect, lol!

Next up - the Citroen Xsara of Colin McRae with Telefonica livery. But not today. This one took 5 hours!!

Thanks T-Shine, praise from you means a lot, you've done some serious stuff yourself in 3D, which I really like.

Started on teh Lancer. Not so easy to pic the good skin - I like both. The one with silver on the side is more modern, yet the one with marlboro is reminescent of Tommi Makinen days... So it's tough to pic, especially that I have peugeot in the similar marlboro livery..

Give me suggestions...
