That is a very contradictory statement.

If a phone has an mp3 player in it, then obviously it was made for playing music, as well as making calls.

I'm meaning things only made for music. It's not contradictory.

That's why I was more comfortable with it being MP3/CD rather than what it is now.

We should say only devices MAINLY made for music.
Phones are COMMUNICATION devices with add on music feature.
