Whelp, I might have gone overboard... But it was pretty fun. Here's what I came up with.

I don't think any of the Shift pictures avaliable to us now would make a great banner. I'd consider waiting for more, or waiting for the game to come out so we can get some good replay images.

I'd love to try and come up with something though. I'll try and think of some concepts tomorrow.

Updated font colours, started adding the sidebar.
A SHIFT header would be cool, but not necessary. Multiple headers with a random one displayed could work too.

Whats wrong with simply having the logo at the top? Afterall, there will be plenty of NFS related pics in the news and on the "showroom" image links.

The design is generic atm and nothing says Need for Speed anywhere. The site needs to have a distinct look so you can instantly spot what it's about.

This new design is pretty sex, but the Updates section isn't really working (I think)

I think he meant the contents on the main page taken from the News section?

Ahmad did a great top logo for the main site (it's visible every other hour)
If anybody else wants to try, the requirements are:

* 970x60
* Gunship font for large text: NFSUNLIMITED.NET and smaller text "WE GOT YOUR NEED FOR SPEED... RIGHT HERE"
* needs to be in contrast with the rest of the site - black background is a no go.
