What is the difference between Photoshop CS4 and Photoshop Elements 7? I've never even heard of photoshop elements, what is it and how is it different from Photoshop CS4?

Short version: Elements is the (very) water down version for home users, the CS version is the full professionally used version.

The price ratio should give you a clue. Elements is around 80€, CS5 (the latest version) goes for about 800€ (the extended version even more).
