Photoshop Art Topic
Re: Photoshop Art Topic
Cheers, yeah, I think that thing on the spoiler may be the way the light reflects on it... I tried to turn lighting reflections off, but it's tricky.

Re: Photoshop Art Topic
Alright, so I'm trying to teach myself how to use the Pen Tool (since I can't seem to find a decent Pen Tool tutorial that helps) and I need some help
...
I'm practicing by outlining a picture of a car. I have it set on Paths and have the Rubber Band option checked as a vector tutorial suggested. I'm starting to get how it works, but I'm having trouble making large, curved lines (like part of a roof line or the wheel arches). If I make a curve going one way, when I make the next anchor point, the line wants to go the other way. It's hard to explain, but hopefully you get what I'm saying. It's perfect for making a 'S' shape but not for large curves going the same direction. If anyone could explain how to get around this, or point out what I'm doing wrong, that would be awesome.
I guess a link to a decent Pen Tool tutorial would do, also.

For outlines, I have mine set to the first settings on the left for both, and auto ad/delete. So I draw a line, add points, and ctrl+click to move the points. Once you made the shape or whatever, you can right click and fill or select.

Re: Photoshop Art Topic
I'm starting to get the hang of it now. Thanks anyway, baumaxx. Finally, some time to play with Photoshop... I just finished my final exams! Anyways, here's what I got so far:

This is fun.

Looking pretty good, so far. Might want to try a harder brush for the thicker lines, though, or duplicating those lines to make them look a bit sharper. The wheel arches look like you used the polygon lasso; they're not smooth curves, but a series of straight lines.

Fix'd. The wheel arches, that is. I'm not too concerned about the darkness of those lines. Should I be? The brush is set on 100% flow, hardness, and opacity.

Looks like if you mess around with the shading a bit, it would make a big difference. And the thumb looks too chubby. And if you're going for the "rock on" gesture, or "corna", the thumb usually goes over the middle and ring finger, doesn't it? I think that one is the gesture for "I love you". How cute.
Also, his hands are purple.
Cool image though.

Yeah, someone else suggested burning but that makes it look more toonish, I suppose there's no easy way than to find the correct colours and shading it manually.
And good point about the gesture, we wouldn't want the Joker to come around as a hippie now would we.

Lol, it really is freaky how we actually get into our careers at our ages...
Kinda like how I'm probably going into Computer Hardware Engineering... Hell, even if it's just testing, it's unreleased hardware...

Well, here is the result of texture editing... custom layouts!
Only done a few decals so far, not all, a tear on the hood... and all the different lines and patches are only guides.
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16328
Don't need to know rendering, just simple PS work... depending on the effects anyway, and you get more views than in a chop!

And I whipped up a new garage pic... http://www.nfsunlimited.net/?p=sr_garage&id=5937 made it look like I was working on it... so print screened while brushing, complete with the transparency grid.

Any Aussies who've happened to have picked up Hot4s issue 169 should look in the chop comp section. While I didn't win this month, two of my pieces got printed, under alias Murcie_LP640, Civic Type-R and Dodge Magnum
will post pic soon.

Re: Photoshop Art Topic
Phew... finaly done. Ive been working whole day on this one... around 11 hours spent on it and its finaly done. Pininfarina Maserati Bridcage 75th.

Its a vexel... pixel/vector hybrid. Now usually vexels are called tooning, because works look like cell shaded cartoons, but i went some other way this time. Its a vexel but as realistic as possible. All done in photoshop, all, including chromed emblem, carbon fiber, interior... all. No google-copy-paste stuff in here, just pure hard work. Enjoy!!!
I plan to improve later some more of interior, and maybe tinner carbon fibers, but as for now, its all as it should be.
btw, pic is 1600x1200, so it works damn fine as a wallpaper!
