Lol... if you have contacts in China... import a few 9800s, sell them cheap, and make a profit... lol. A nerd friend made $100 off getting a 8800 Ultra, selling it for $700 used and got a 8600 in the deal, and then got a 9800 for $600.

He made $700 and got a free 8600, then spent $600 on a 9800, leaving him $100.

I understand that. I didn't see the point of going high end, low, just to go back to high.

I don't think his point was to go back to a slower card, he just got it in the deal. In the end, he earned some money and a card for upgrading his PC.

Exactly... because the card was $1000 at that time, he made a bit, and waited for the 9800 to come out, which turned out cheaper and he couldn't afford if he didn't sell the 8800.
He's maxing Crysis now. Has anyone seen a comparison between PCI-E and PCI-E2 yet?

AMD Athlon X2 3800+ @ 2.9Ghz
DFI LANparty UT NF4 Ultra-D
MSI nVidia GeForce 7900GTO
OCZ Technology Platinum PC4000 2x 1GB
OCZ Technology GameXStream 700W
Maxtor DiamondMax 10 160GB 2x

Cooling hardware;

Swiftech Storm Rev1
Swiftech MCW60R
Swiftech MCR320
Swiftech MCP655
EK Multioption Reservoir 250

I decided to stay with my old hardware and upgrade my watercooling system as my previous looked like a disaster. I haven't really upgraded my PC anymore as I found a new (expensive) hobby 1,5 year ago, so I can live with medium settings in games. Only thing I'll be getting real soon is a new Samsung Spinpoint F1 HDD.

Lol, the 7600GT was mid-range'd by the 78GT+'s quick rofl

The 3870 may have been surpassed by the 48xx series, but it still packs a whallop for high res gaming :)
