dynamic Ip's, and I'm quoting Viper gts, are still set to like 10 IP numbers. So you are limited to like 10 IP addresses, so it's easy to trace... Those change every 24 hours, or every time they log in. So it's not a problem. That's why many websites use IP ban. Because even though they change, they change within a range. Just so others who read it know.

problem is though........we can't actually get there ip unless they post in the forums or we are logged on at the same time as the user.

also as for voters voting a 1..................we can only take fair action if this is consistent by a certain user like "vo1" and it's is very time consuming to go through all the cars in the showroom and check the ratings.

well, i see yuor point guys. i am just upset, cuz i think i make some nice cars and there's ALWAYS someone downrating them, consistently. And i'm sick of this. Since this annoys me (i wish i could ignore it, but i can't), I'll have to solve this for myself i guess.

I just thought that removing the votes option may change things... but it's all up to you guys.

i know this must weewee alot of you guys off and hopefully we will have a solution soon.

i've submitted an idea about the voting to bobyx, we'll just have to see what he thinks.

in the mean time please be patient.

and i must stress that having more than 1 registered account is against the rules and any user caught with more than 1, whether there frequent users or not will be dealt with.

please don't go vigilanty on us.

well if we remove votes then.....whats the point of top 5 guest and user?
just storage for server space?
maybe to vote 1,2 or 3 you need to write reason that will be auto send to admins and user that uploaded car.
with IP logged and time, date etc

bobyx has now generously created a utility for us to catch downvoters and delete votes. hope this will ease you're minds.

but i must point out, there will have to be a procedure to follow to keep it fair so as we only delete votes from people who are downvoting for there own gain or too deliberately to weewee people off and not delete votes from people who geneuinly vote a 1 because they don't like the car.

so.. what are the ground rules here viper? are corroborating comments fro the downrater required as some kind of evidence for example, or maybe it's just down to the mod's judgement?

the exact procedure is undecided just now, but it will involve the downrater being contacted before action is decided.

about the 2 users this thread was created for, Sayem and H8TR

Sayem has made 23 votes and only 4 are below 5.

H8TR:
has made 32 votes, 20 votes are 10's and 12 votes are 1's.
there is now pattern as to how he is voting and it just seems he is voting cars he dislikes as 1's and cars he likes as 10's. since he doesn't appear to be voting low for his own personal gain no action will be taken.

sorry mate........it just looks like he doesn't like you're car, hope you understand were just trying to be fair.

if you think a user is deliberately downvoting cars for his own gain or posting abusive comments in the car showroom then PM Admin/Mod and the matter will be dealt with A.S.A.P

EDIT:

i've just spent the last hour and half checking up on some users and i must say i'm dissapointed in the amount of users who have more than 1 account..........out of about 25 users i have found 10 and they will be contacted very shortly.

rules are made for a reason, i can't begin to imagine how much work it was for bobyx to build this site and all the Admin & Mods try there best to keep this site in order so it is as user friendly as possible for all who visit this site's benefit. the least every user can do is follow the rules.

Yeh - better to check with the guys in the comp I think - they ain't our cars...

btw bobyx/Viper - what's the mod/admin feeling about these comps? I'm hoping they're ok.. figure they do several good things - add depth and interest for members, skirt around recent down/uprating issues, and increase click counts/site traffic...

the Pinkchallenge account will be made inactive and all votes by Pinkchallenge deleted. the Pinkchallenge garage however will stay since it was a competition garage.
