Allowing HTML in garage description.
Allowing HTML in garage description.
I think it would be quite useful to allow HTML in garage description. I would like to make my recommended garages list with a hyperlinks so ppl can more easily access them.
good idea, i would point out some details:
- you could add all nicks at once, separated by commas for example, else, it would be very uncomfortable.
- you could delete any of recommended garage, so there should be delete button next to each one
- also some ppl like adding comments to each garages, like "this one got pretty vinyls" or "great presentation" etc.
all in all, it looks pretty difficult to make it as useful as allowing it right in description

I'm not sure why you feel we need to justify our decisions to you, since this is our site and you are a guest, but here goes nothing.Triskac wrote: i am still waiting for example how it can be abusable more then hyperlink in signature here on forum
Without severe restrictions on any HTML allowed in garage descriptions, people would soon be creating whole home pages within their garages. Most people are exceedingly terrible at even simple HTML - there is no doubt that sloppiness and errors would abound. This is something that would be very time consuming, almost impossible to moderate, it would raise support levels a great deal and would degrade the showroom experience for everyone.
The restricted HTML/BBCode offered in the forum is provided and controlled by the phpBB forum package and as such is easily implemented with very little work on the part of the administrator, just flip a few settings in the adminstration control panel. On the other hand the site itself, including the showroom, is not running within phpBB and is entirely manually coded.
As you might imagine, coding restricted HTML interpretation from scratch is no small task and a hell of a lot of work for just one small feature. On the other hand, adding a small frame that displays links and a title is far simpler, completely controllable and much more likely to actually happen.

well, i dont see the reason for HTML if its just going to be A, B, U, I...and things like that..i mean, c'mon, its just a garage...not even a REAL one. so, what's the reason for customizing it all full blast? its not like its going to benefit you in any way (other than...oo! look at this...).
but hey, that's just my opinion...after all, my garage is all...well, yeah.
