Extended sign?

Is there anyway to extend the character-limit in the sign? not very much, just to like ~300

And couldn't the avatar picture have bigger kb limit. Not in size, size is ok, but a mid jpg of thin size is more KB than the limit.

I exteneded the sih max char from 255 to 300.
The avatar's limit is 25kB which is quite enough for a 100x100 image.
