How fast is your internet connection?

Post by Harpal Hoonjan »

A simple curious question, how fast is your connection?

There are plenty of site were you can test your internet speed, most of them are pretty accurate, some are ridiculous. A good one I found while browsing thought another forum which I personally think it’s the best: http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/

All you have to do is take the test, and post back your result. If you want, mention your ISP, connection type and price you pay (per month).

Ok I’ll start: Download Speed: 964 kbps (120.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 84 kbps (10.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
And with that result, have a NTL 1MB connection and it cost me £17.99 p.m

Download Speed: 5285 kbps (660.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 682 kbps (85.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

I have an 8/1mbps ADSL. Costs around 40€~/month.

I've had a bit better scores on a site that was located in Finland.
But there's not that much of a difference.

Not really sure if that's fast or slow.

Download Speed: 1277 kbps (159.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 313 kbps (39.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

i've got two PCs and two wireless laptops.

AT&T 1.5Mbps DSL line US$14.95

i wanted to upgrade it to a 4.5Mbps (A?)DSL line (AT&T's turbo DSL) but it's just not worth it for the price....

Spartan, you probably have basic cable like me, it's not the best out there but it's pretty good.

4676 down 4711 (at the 3rd try)
731 up

seen it alot faster though, must be working on the connection again (not like it is 2 times as high but seen it above 5000 regularly, but a while ago they increased it. cause it was originally a 1 mbit (very fast for it's time0 and they increased it to a 2, 3 months later to 4 and not so long ago they upgraded it again to... donno really.

1555 kbps (194.4 KB/sec)
304 kbps (38 KB/sec)

It can do a lot better from an Aussie server, approx 600 KB/sec.

Ozemail (iinet) ADSL2
10gb cap (slows to 64kbps after cap is reached)
$60 or $70 per month, Dad's employer pays for it

Mine says 512 download 128kb upload,but crap
when i download it starts with 500-600kb/s and slows down to 60kb/s,but i get lot more speed with bearshare,my top is 3.2MB/s(thats 3.2megabits/s) and im connected with my aunt`s pc,and costs about $30 a month
I also host on W3,dota and doesnt lag,im amazed by that,so slow and doesnt lag at anyone,i always ask them :D

I saw once a 10MB/s it was "flying"

Test 1
Last Result:
Download Speed: 1602 kbps (200.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 412 kbps (51.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Test 2
Last Result:
Download Speed: 1607 kbps (200.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 413 kbps (51.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

That's fairly accurate given the fact that the test server is way the heck in the UK (from Finland, arctic circle) for my 2Mbps/512kbps ADSL connection.

EDIT: When using the speedtest provided by my domestic ISP I get 1792kbps/224KBps. Doesn't test upload...
