I usually pass them before the first corner, using the footpath/sidewalk to get ahead.
But, I have to say, after playing the full game on the 10th and 11th, it isnt worth it to get a wheel just for the game, using a custom built, six speed gearbox, foot clutch, accellerator and brake pedals, a nice racing seat(momo I beleive). All set up as a race car, then a drift car, the drifting is a little off.

I wouldnt pay $500 for a G25, that's for sure.

Hmm, i got my g25 from amazon.com for $250 cuz it was on sale, AND i got a $25 rebate xD i was stoked. G25 IS worth it though, if you really like racing games, nothing compares to having clutch and an H shifter. btw though, pigi, how did you make an e-brake?? i've been tryin to come up with something using my joystick, but it messes up the rest of the controls when i plug it in. (plus its a really old joystick)

My method's kinda professional. I come in hard and brake late and hard. However, i can still hold my racing line at maximum speed. I race using King

i'm not 100% pro, but i'm pro enough, TRY to get everything perfect.
uses King, dat's the first thing i did when i first started the game.
no auto, too much lag, not JUST manual, cuz rpm still lags in manual for this game, it's manual with clutch, feels real and no rpm lag.
uses heel-toe technique for downshift.
