i can say that im not realy especting new nfs... once again its gona be hype, and than huge disapointment. alli want from next nfs is to get back to its origins. that means ferraris, egzotics only, no customization. tuners are suposed to be customized. muscles... nah, egzotics... maybe only cromed rimz, and for gods sake... dont spend months on graphic that wants brand new pc config, i want to play that game on my current pc! and yeh. since i got test drive unlimited i dont need new nfs, that game has all i expected - ferraris, egzotic terrain, and pure fun.

Because EA has a history. And if you look at the market, why should EA bother making their game like TDU?

1. NFS Carbon sold more than TDU did, partly because it has the EA brand name on it.
2. NFS series have a larger fan base which largely consists of teenagers now. It's ill-advised for EA to make a TDU-styled game that appeals to it's older fans.
3. Each year, the NFS fanbase has increased, and EA won't go back to something that made them less money.

Those are the facts. That's why I don't expect much from EA. There's a history behind the game that prevents it from returning to the roots or be mind-blowing.

one more fact! EA is releasing new NFS each year. Greed! and in that short time they just cant make such complex game as TDU is. They actualy can, but it will cost much more, and profit would be lower than classic junk nfs game.

Exactly, they've put a short deadline for each of their games to be completed by, and that's also a reason why there's so many bugs. And hopefully EA will eventually figure out that sometime in the future they are going to have to make good NFS games or else they will go bankrupt. The current teen-young adult generation keeps buying their games, but once they have a life to live, EA will use the bulk of their customers, forcing them to release much more advanced games.

Fact: development time of a NFS game is not one year, but much more.

Also saying that NFS games suck is your opinion and not a fact:
Carbon - average rating 78% - http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/ ... p?q=carbon
Most Wanted - 82% - http://www.gamerankings.com/itemranking ... mid=927142
Underground 2 - 84% - http://www.gamerankings.com/itemranking ... mid=920469
Underground - 83% - http://www.gamerankings.com/itemranking ... mid=914766

All these scores are well above average and say that NFS games are in fact very good games.

And since you're all mentioning TDU. It's average score isn't much higher: 84%

Well i guess we are like that because of hype and disapointment. Every time EA anounces new NFS its mindblowing, ultra-revolutionary project that will be best thing ever. Later you find out that they lied about many things. Autosculpt is imo biggest lie ever. NO! u cant create bumpers as ever u like. all u get is 4 bumpers with 3-8 variations of it. And whats up with editing screenshots? Its all just a lie. thats why i dont believe next nfs will be any better. As for TDU... atleast its revolutionary

But we do agree that the statement "Carbon sucked" is a fact and not an opinion. I mean, let's talk statistics. Its average score is 78% which is about 4 to 6% lower than the rest of the group from 82 to 84%.

Now, we learned this in Data Management class. When you have many scores or a massive pool of data (as in this case there are many sites which reviewed the games), it is very hard to boost or bring down a score by even 1%. So the fact that Carbon's score is on average 5% lower than the other scores, that says a lot. It says the game was completely crap compared to the rest of the games (and that is not exaggeration). I mean 5%! I know most of you do not realize this but this is A LOT. Even a 1.5% difference is a lot but I won't go that far.

On to TDU. Considering that the other Test Drive games were utter crap (I mean they scored in the mid 60s to low 70s), for Atari to pull of a game with a name of damaged reputation says a lot. Not only that but its score is 84% on par with the highest scored NFS games (which disturbingly it's UG2). A game in a franchise with a damaged history scored higher than most games in the most popular racing franchise. That's saying something right there.

I agree, I have Test Drive 6 for PC, and it's absolutely garbage (Though addicting at times due to unrealistic physics). When I first heard of TDU, I was amazed to see the features and graphics that they had put in. Atari probably invested the same amount of money into TDU as EA invested into U1, U2, MW, and Carbon. And then there's games like PGR and GT4, but since they are only available on 1 system, they can't get as many buyers. If they released those games even to just the PC, it would be extremely successful.

Edit: Wow, I didn't realize it, but TDU hasn't even been released for PC in North America yet. I think I know what I'll be getting on March 20th 8)

Wow, you just made it a fact that Gran Turismo 4 sucks. So does Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament 2003.

You can say for fact that NFSC is the worst rated from the recent four games . Everything else is personal opinion and not a fact.

i think ppl are just more disappointed about the lies and how bad NFS has dropped threw the years and how much other game titles are flying buy them but are not getting any good response cause NFS is so big it just eats up everything GT is a great game i just don't play it much and i don't think many others do cause its only for PS2/PS3 if it was for other systems i believe it would make NFS realize shiznit we do need to actually put some time in this

How did I say that GT4 sucks? I just said it was available on only 1 system, and that it would be successful if it was released on other systems/consoles.

The Facts given by Bojan are no less opinions than any other.

reason:
Simple, cause reviews are based on the OPINION of the reviewer.

And sales numbers don't make something a good product.
For instance compare it with some TV programs that had global versions, like Big Brother and the Idols series. alot of people worldwide watched it and they generated Huuuuuge amounts of money, but that doesn't make them good programs.
And to bring it abit closer to the NFS games.
The best sold car in the US is the Ford F150 pickup.... but it still isn't a good car

Other reasons why NFS is doing so well is because EA advertises outside the internet, they got commercials on the TV etc.
And most NFS buyers don't follow all the news about the game like the members here, we know when EA trows stuff away that they promised us before etc.
But the average NFS player doesn't know that.
They see a game that looks cool in the store and they buy it.

I'm pretty sure I will buy the next NFS game but that's because I simply collect them.
That fact that I am a big NFS fan does not mean that I am think it is all good.
