NFSUnlimited.net Forum Upgrade

As some of you have noticed, our discussion board has changed significantly. The reason is the upgrade of forum software to phpBB3. The change list is quite huge, but the most notable improvements and new features are surely much better spambot protection, better search, better private messaging, friends and foes, the ability to have subforums, warnings and reports...
Certain features that were in the previous forum (like quick reply) will return soon as will the style be adjusted in time to have more of a NFSUnlimited.net look. If you encounter any bugs with the software or have a difficult time registering, let us know.

Actually it wont... Current layout will remain with only minor changes.

i really hate how this new stuff handles the "read topics"
previously i could just close FF and no more new post icons in stuff i cba reading
thats gone now
makes it slightly harder for me to see whats actually new

The "Mark all forums read" is now on the top-right. So before closing the forum I'd usually click on that, even before the change.

Noticed a bug due to the forum upgrade.

The smileys that used to be there in the Showroom Post a Comment page have mysteriously disappeared.

This upgrade was earlier than I expected, because phpBB3 is only at RC3 now. It is supported, but definitely not as stable as an official release.

The most notable change from phpBB2 to phpBB3 would be the option to have subforums.

Bojan could just create a subforum under the Need For Speed General Discussion for Pro Street.

The smilies were actually changed in phpBB3, but the old ones look better. I agree with this.
