Yeah, that's what I was thinking of too when I read headline on NFSUnlimited. 1UP is just trying to get people to visit their website, even if it means bending the truth. The fact is that EA was planning on opening a NEW, third studio in Vancouver and now the plans have been scraped. They'll still have the other 2 open, even though they'll cut down the workforce but they're still open.AsBest wrote:1UP doesn't provide fresh news. There is nothing about franchise cut.
Think about it realistically. Yes, EA is cutting some of their franchise and games, like Tiberium (which is a shame because the game has monster potential) but they won't cut their SUCCESSFUL franchise. Despite the low quality and bad rep of NFS games, they're still very successful. I mean, they're still releasing a PS2 version after all these years.
I don't want NFS to be cut but I do want them to lose sales so EA can wake the firetruck up, take a break a year or two and make a PROPER NFS game. And as much as I like GRID, it's not NFS so selling the rights to Codemasters will truly kill the NFS franchise.
