Every four wheeled car outside would be a ripoff of the first one then. You can't stay original, and the Crossfire system is completely different compared to SLI.

Spidersense says ''Fanboyism''.

It's faster than the 7800GTX. ATi had problems with production and they still have, same with the first X series.

I also here that the new ATI cards have less pipelines, yet perform just as well or better than the 7800GTX...

Mark = manufacturer?
Manufacturer doesn't really matter imo.
And what kind of a price you were thinking about?

If you want a cheap and a really powerfull card i would choose the GeForce 6600GT.
You can get them for about 150€ / $.

But if you're really rich i would get the GeForce 7800GT.
They cost about 3 times as much as the 6600GT but it's about the best card out there.
Of course there are a couple of models of the 7800 that are "better" but the differences are really small.

Hope this helps.

ok, it runs all tests fine now but still locks up and gets stuck in a loop. i took out my sound blaster live! 24-bit sound card and it still got stuck in a loop. i don't know how to fix it.

it's a PNY Verto GeForce FX 5700VE running out of an AGP 8x slot.

Ok I need some advice.

I don't really know anything about video cards, and all I want is a really cheap 128mb AGP card.

By cheap, I mean like AU$50 / 30 Euro / US$38. I am willing to by second hand as well.

So could anyone tell what is the best of the worst? Or does anyone have an old card they want to sell?

for $50... hmm, I think that one of my friends has a spare 128meg gfx card lying around
he has a few nVidia ones and a few ATi
if you want bbm, I'll go and ask him (if i remember right he was literally throwing them away)

oh... and news to all 1800XT fanatics, nVidia striked back with a nasty little bite from the 7800 series
http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2005/10/26 ... n_nov_7th/

and back to bbm.... here are some suggestions, FROM EBAY :P

ATi All In Wonder 9800SE AGP Graphics Card
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ATi-All-In-Wonde ... dZViewItem

ATI All-in-Wonder 9700 PRO AGP Graphics Card
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ATI-All-in-Wonde ... dZViewItem

and to top this little list off
256MB nVIDIA GEFORC FX 5700LE GRAPHIC CARD - 8X AGP
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-256MB-nVIDIA ... dZViewItem

I shall post more for you to decide

Yeah spot on . . .

I realised that I need to type in graphics cards, but I still don't know what's good and what isn't. I think that 9200SE's are crap . . . but that is the extent of my video card knowledge.

Edit: oh and does it matter if i get ATI or nVidia?

Righto.

Those ones you posted for me seem to be edging out of my price range (i'm predicting them to go up before the end of the auction) so the 9550 seems to be right up my alley. Are they any good? Are FX5200's any good? cos they're also in my range.
