I don't use PhotoShop to get the lines, just color it. For the outline I use AutoDesk, but I think I have a pretty good idea of how to do it with PS. What I would do is make a copy of the car using the polygon lasso, then go to Select>Modify>Expand by 1 or 2 pixels, and just fill that in with black. If hat's no the right way to do it, I aplogize, but that's how I would do it.

Anyway, here's the final drawing of my Ford GT, now I have just have to thicken the lines and color. The white lines represent reflections and the gray lines represent shadows...

It isn't the right way, but you dont need to appologize

Edit: To shutup all the people who want to find out how to do Vectors:

It's a big image, and it takes a lot of time, and the one l showed you is for intermediate to advanced Photoshoppers (I'm more intermediate then noob, thats why mine are more simplistic)

Ok, what colors should I make my Ford GT? I was thinking either red w/ white stripes, white w/ blue stripes, or blue w/ white stripes.

-EDIT-
I'ma just go with the white w/ blue stripes.

-EDIT-2
All done.

Well, I decided, "What the hey," and made the red w/ white stripes, which turned out to be a good idea, because now you can see more of the reflections...

I looked at that tut, and I was wondering why your lines are so jagged? You can make them smooth even without curving them, just make more lines for tighter curves.

No, I mean they're not round, they're compiled of a bunch of straight lines. Mine aren't jagged, the image is just low quality.

-EDIT-
See, look, like this. You're curves are like the second circle, but if you use just a little more nodes, or whatever you want to call them, you can make the line look much smoother.

I had a go at a Supra, its my first try, its probly a bit detailed for a vector, and I couldnt be bothered with the rims or headlights.

it's not bad, shading is pretty good, but the outlines are very pixilated

Thanks, there was one point where I was accidentaly drawing on the wrong layer  That made the aa a white gradient on the lines over the red car shading. Ill try not to do that next time
