It's a family sedan. That's it.

What do you mean "lookin good"? As in, 20 inch rims, a huge spoiler, a tacky body kit and a bunch of lcd panels in the inside? I'm thinking that's the only use the car would serve, other than shuttling kids back and forth from school.

Aye. It's a car you can't get to "look good", much in the same way you can't a Ford Mondeo or Opel Vectra.
It's not so much a car, as just a form of transport.

I suppose they're pretty good at flying under the proverbial radar (particulairly the third gen - I can't distinguish the performance model from the others). I like the third and fifth generation Maximas well enough, although that's most of the impression they made on me.

Second one's rice as can be, the first is OK, but I doubt it goes fast, particularly with those horrible blingy alloys.

Agreed. First one is nice, although the rims are about 2 inches too big. The second one is just uncle ben.

I have to admit though, the new Maxima SE-R is kinda appealing, but it's not worth tuning. If you wanna tune sedans, tune Impreza's or EVO's.

No, bad, evil! You don't tune Evo's or STi's.

Because they already 0wn. Hmm... now that I look at my previous post, I guess I should have mentioned I was talking more about the visual aspect of the car. But they still 0wn performance-wise as well.

Yep but see Maxima owners don't look at is as "tuning" they look at it as styling. You can take almost any car and tune it but you can't take every car and make it look good. Plus not many people take Maxima's and style them.

P.S - No such thing as a Maxima SE-R...Altima SE-R? Sentra SE-R but no Maxima. The only thing that Maxima has that resembles a SE-R is their SE (Sports Edition) version.

No they don't! A 10k E36 M3 eats them for breakfast; you NEED more power in them!

@Nismomaxx. Tuning and styling are both seperate. Neither car is tuned, and the second car is horribly styled. The first would look OK with a decent set of dished split-rims, but with crome alloys, it looks like a bag of ass.

Oh, and you can style any car. it doesn't nessesarily mean it looks good. Tuning is what takes brains and guts...

6th gen has the powerful and torquey VQ35DE, so....I like it.

But the Altima SE-R is much cooler.

Car and Driver Magazine (I subscribe to it) had a Battle of early 80's diesel beaters, with a pretty funny 1st-gen diesel Maxima. It was pretty cool, if pretty dumb.
