What are E.A playin at
Ok, so after all the hype over NFScarbon they released videos, screenshots and sondtracks...i seasrched a little deeper to get the system requirements....well....
Minimum System Requirements:
Windows XP, Windows XP 64-bit
1024MB System RAM
3.0 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
256MB Direct3D compatible video card
and DirectX 9.0 compatible driver;
8x DVD-ROM drive
4.3 GB free hard disk space
DirectX 9.0c (included)
DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card
Keyboard, Mouse
Recommended System Requirements:
Windows XP, Windows XP 64-bit
2048MB System RAM
3.6 Ghz Intel Xeon or equivalent processor
512MB Direct3D compatible video card
and DirectX 9.0 compatible driver;
8x DVD-ROM drive
4.6 GB free hard disk space
DirectX 9.0c (included)
DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card
Keyboard, Mouse
Supported Video Card Chipsets:
ATI X1900 series
ATI X1800 series
ATI X1600 series
ATI X1300 series
ATI X850 series
NVIDIA GeForce 7950 series
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 series
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series
NVIDIA GeForce 6600 series
I have to ask a simple question...WHERE THE HELL DO THEY GET THERE SPECS FROM...Obviosuly the graphics are the same as MW but just @ night...so they add better smoke and lighting effects, the cars look no better than in MW...WHY 256MB OR 512MB Graphics card memory and then say GeForce 6600 series... 2gb Of RAM??? F.E.A.R is the most demanding game graphicaly and i could use 128mb 6600gt with 1gb RAM & AMD64 3200+...
I'd love to know Why the specs are so high, as i can seemost people not just spending money on the game but also to upgrade their systems to play a game

Funny that people still are laughing at consoles that PC are always superior.xkalibur80 wrote:I'd love to know Why the specs are so high, as i can seemost people not just spending money on the game but also to upgrade their systems to play a game
And then the same people complain that the system requirements are too high. Heh.

"2GB of ram" and "GFX starts at 6600" is impossible.....at least for now, maybe we need more memory and better GFX card in later NFS series.

Ok, check it out. EA has introduced a lot of features into Carbon to widen it's fanbase. Nissans have made it back. There are two different Mitsubishi Eclipses. Drift racing has made it back.
EA is not going to loose more than half it's fanbase by making the minimum requirements so high. The recommended may be high considering that when Windows Vista finally hits the market, PCs will need a lot of power to run it. But I repeat, EA is not going to alienate more than half of it's fanbase by making the minimum requirements so high.

I know wat u mean BUT, these specs had to come from somewhere and bein as they were on the Unofficial Carbon Website and NOT on the Official site, people who search for specs like i did get that as the result!!!!2furio wrote:Ok...no offence, but what is the point of proving these are not the real requirements when it's obvious they're not?
I know 2furio posted specs in the Carbon discussion, but my point still stands, Where did these specs come form and how did E.A allow em to be released.
I do know that Carbon Will be able to Utilise FULL Pixel Shader 3 & Duel Processor. I believe on what most people say on here, IF you can play MW on full graphics and @ hi res, i'm sure you will be able to play Carbon with no worries...(We Hope). As new newer Games come out developers will always push the specs higher and higher.
Every one knows Consoles NEVER have this problem hense they tend to sell more copies as a percentage. But i wont be buyin it for my xbox! because theres always something missed out

I can go on but there's no point in beating a dead horse.
hehe,
to be honest i felt the same when i 1st read em, there are a few games out at moment that require 3ghz or equivilent, but these specs are actually (so i've just found out) the same specs for Windows Vista WTF....so some gimps made up some outlandish specualtion and hope E.A get hold of this gezza n slap

No they're not... it can run on nearly the same system as Windows XP, why do you think XP had the 'old windows' theme in it.xkalibur80 wrote:but these specs are actually (so i've just found out) the same specs for Windows Vista
These specs are bull, if it's running on the same engine as MW then you don't need anything more than that.
