Demyx Tutorial Topic
Seeing that this was only a waste. Please any mod/admin whatever close it.
I hope you don't mind that I make my own little topic, but I had a vision and it goes like this:
I have this topic, where I keep making tons of tutorials for you guys in a little bit more "clean" post.
Basic Reflections
What you get
Before we start..
This is a very basic reflection guide.
There is more advanced ones, but this one will do the trick.
I'm not adding tons of picture to this one cus it's so easy.
Start
Okey open up photoshop.
Create a new image.
Add your picture. Not such a nice effect if it got a background, and not on water or something like that.
Then duplicate your layer.
Go to Edit-->Transform-->Rotate Vertical.
Nudge your layer with the arrows under your original picture.
Then change the opacity level. I recommend between 10%-40%.
Jopuma Note: Select half the car with the rectangle marquee tool.
Then select-->feather then something from 15-20 then hit delete.
Now the reflection fade's out nicely.
Shadow
This can also work as shadow. (If you don't rotate it)
Just do this: Blending Options-->Color Overlay-->Black.
Now just move it in a fitting place and you got your shadow.
This can also become a 3d picture if you place it a few nudges under your original picture.
(Nudge=Move just with arrows)
After you placed it under your original picture duplicate the black picture and keep adding them under.
Stroke
I often see people making great pictures, but they forget 1 thing. STROKE!
It's very simple and I will share with you lads, a few methods,
Method 1: Basic Stroke
When your done with your picture create a new layer put it on TOP.
Then CTRL+A now you will see these dots around your signature or whatever it is.
Then go to edit-->stroke
Settings for basic stroke: 1px, black and CENTER always center.
Method 2: 2-Tone Stroke
First create a new layer. CTRL+A then go to edit-->stroke.
Then make a 3 px, black center.
Then go to stroke again, this time make it: 2 px, white, center.
Final time you do: 1 px black, center.
Feel free to change colours.
Note from me: If you create a layer for each of the 3 strokes you can do a little cool thing. The middle stroke in this case, the white one, you put that on overlay/softlight and you get a little cool effect.
Method 3: Overlay Stroke
Do as before, create new layer, CTRL+A, edit-->stroke.
Then use these settings that fit the best: 3 px, black/white, center.
Now go back to your image put the stroke at overlay or softlight (what fits best)
Patterns
Patterns is often used, but not everybody knows how to make them.
I'll show you how.
Open up photoshop.
Create a new 3x3 image. Yep that's right 3x3.
Then zoom in as far as you can. (1600%)
Use the pencil tool with 1 px black, and make one of these:
Then go to Edit-->Define Pattern-->Name it whatever you want and it should be there.
It's as easy as that an you can make countless of patterns.
Advanced Signature Tutorial
What you get
What you need
-Two pictures, the theme is written a bit down.
-Brushes, grunge/abstract
Start by creating a 400x120 transparent background.
Get two pictures, 1 for background and 1 for front render.
I suggest they same theme. Im going by mech/technical theme.
You can choose whatever you want.
My background image: Background
My Render: Render
First I add my background image to my other image the one created in photoshop. (400x120)
I add a part I like.
Then I create a new layer, but I still got my background selected.
Then use the 1 pixel line tool. Just right click where the rectangle marquee tool is then you see this thin line that goes up, NOT to the sides.
Select this tool then while still selected the background in the layers menu, click ctrl+c(copy) now go over to the other layer we created (the blank one) then click ctrl +v(paste)
At this point you won't see the line cus it's so thin, but soon you will.
Click ctrl+t then make it cover the whole image like mine:
Don't worry tho, just make that layer overlay or softlight (take what fits, I used overlay)
Then I add my render image at a fitting spot.
Duplicate this layer 2 times. The bottom of these layer you use go filter-->motion blur and some random settings. (I did angle 0 and distance 188)
On top of all layers, create a new on add some brushing. Abstractgrunge brushes.
After you brushed put that layer on overlay/softlight (you know the drill by now, take what fits)
Now go to the top layer again then go to Edit-->Copy Merge-->Then ctrl+v you get a new layer.
Now go to filter-->motion blur and use some random settings (more than 100 distance)
Your signature looks all weird now, but when on that layer use one of these settings:
Overlay/Softlight (Pick what fits)
This is what I got:
The reason you do this is so the colors get a little bit "stronger"
Now all you got to do is add text and stroke I did a basic 1 pixel black stroke. I used Trajan Pro. Play with the text settings and put it at a fitting spot.
What I got:
Do me a favour and try it, so I can see what you get.
Basic Pen Tool
The pen tool you can make many nice shapes and just knowing the basics can get you far.
Here I just make a basic shape. I hit the pen tool 4 times to get this square. Pretty easy so far yes?
Now I use the convert tool and drag 1 of the four squares from last pick to get this:
Now that you seen that, just imagine how many things you can make.
Now I just make a basic pen tool and just drag one line like seen below.
By dragging the line I get a new shape.
Now you know the basics. Play around. Have fun with the amazing pen tool.
I also think you should know that the pen tool is excellent for cutting out images because it's very accurate and don't leave those small annoying pixels.

If i was a moderator i would of made a tutorial thread where we put the LINKS of the most important tutorials not the tutorials them selves cuz it will make a big thread and we would just be wondering around for the right tutorials as for the links to the tutorials and next to the links a short description is better.
