My preferred news site is http://www.Cubed3.com but the news is pretty old now and you won't find it on the front page. Just Google 'Wii DVD' or something.

This news is a bit old, but I did find what you were talking about here: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=20729

However, as the Wii discs are written on DVD, it already has the hardware capabilities for playing DVDs, and it could be that a firmware could be released or "cracked" which will be able to perform the DVD playing.

But still, why would you want it?

It was left out in the first place because Nintendo figured that most people already have a DVD player . . . so why pay for another one?

I agree, but since my DVD player is on a different TV than my Wii, it would be slightly more convenient. But you are right, I wouldn't pay extra for a silly feature like that.

I pick PS3. I've heard alot of good things about the PS3. It might just overexaggeration, but I still this system might be the best in my opinion. Plus I'm part of the Playstation.com community,so I hear nothing, but the PS3 all day. :)

:'( I want to see an Xbox 360 on a 52 inch DLP TV, I don't know if it will strech or not. It has a 1080 slot like the Elite has.

Ummm, what's the use there?

HDMI is a hell of a lot better at carrying video and audio than VGA, RCA, DVI, etc. so I don't really see the sense in not using the HDMI to your advantage.

Or don't you have a HDMI port on any of your display/s ?

I do use the HDMI, but its a bit short... I use the VGA port occasionally for playing some games on the big screen from my PC.

I use the Digital Out for audio, straight to my 5:1 stereo surround sound system =]

EDIT:

New Dashboard update soon to come, maybe tomorrow, maybe the next, who knows what M$ is doing

PS3 is the biggest waste of money ever. They have like 20 games for it and it's the least popular next-gen gaming console since I could go to any store nearby right now and pick 2 - 3 up.

It's the least popular as it's the most expensive. Now lets just wait how the PS3 turns out later as it's just around.

Only one i suppose, thats because X360 wont be able to keep up with the PS3 by then.

I, till now, havent decided what console to purchase.

The PS3 has already crashed and burned, I'm not saying it's a bad console, it's just a poor choice by Sony. To release a $1000AUD console with what, like 2 exclusives. If they had of released it with more exclusives, and didnt put in a blu-ray player, they might have just been able to keep up with the Wii(Saying Wii because they were released about the same time).

At this moment, the 360 is the optimum choice for a console, as it already has great online, more exclusives than you can poke a stick at, and it doesnt cost a small fortune.
