I never would have thought it would come down to a virtual fish slapping. Yet it is so appropriate. I know it's old but did you see the Top Gear episode in which they did radio for a day, and reviewed the Caddy at the same time? They may have used a lot of words, but to me they all meant the same thing...crap. I reckon GM try too hard to follow in the footsteps of the Europeans, and they always come out short. And yes, I prefer anything other than Holden or Ford. Nothing GM does can really beat a European car, especially a German luxury car.

And what year was that? Not 2008 I'm guessing.

I dislike American automakers a lot, especially Ford and GM, but you can't deny the fact that they are cleaning their act up a bit, at least with Cadillac.

Not really, sure they are slightly with Caddy, but other models I've seen aren't so good. Take the Chrysler Sebring for an example.

It's more of a 'Point-A to Point-B' car than anything else.

It is, indeed, a manual.
It's a '92 GS, so yes, it is the 92 HP 1.8L.

That should be a decent first car.. Pretty much every first car gets wrecked in some way, so who needs an expensive one. D:

Nono, I already did that in the Miata. :B Well, not wrecked, per se, but the front bumper got a bit chewed up, and the tires have to be replaced...

Well considering I'm not able to drive yet it's not really based on taste but rather reviews. And the Sebring is horrible apparently.

If you base it on reviews, then the BMW E90 was the ugliest car in 2005. And the CTS is the Car of the Year in 2008.

I'm fine with that, as it proves my point.

Once again different countries= different review tastes= different answers. Take for an example the fact that just because it is Ausie means that the new VE Common-w***e took out MOTOR's BFYB (Bang for Your Buck) twice, Wheels Car of the Car and a horde of other awards against considerably better European rivals.

What's your point? I didn't mention anything about Holdens, just Cadillacs and BMWs.

In fact, it also supports the view that GM is improving their quality in next-generation vehicles.

My point is that because it's an Australian car, Australia automatically supports it no matter what even though there are better European cars out there. Which (possibly) should mean that America is the same with Caddy.

Oh and by the way, if there's any proof of your point, I'd like to see it.

You're joking me, right? The Holden VE Commodore is only available in Australia, which is probably the only reason why Australian magazines are the ones rating it...

American mags will get their chance once the Pontiac G8 arrives and it's almost guaranteed that it will get similar ratings as the VE Commodore. You shouldn't just assume it's being unjustly loved because of nationalism.

Name the point and I'll give you proof (Specify...).
