[Finished] Shapes Challenge - CTC2 - Tuning Challenge

Post by baumaxx1 »

News:
Well, as a bit of a consequence of the late start the other day... here are the results... a bit late. Another study group... so I couldn't be up till 1 am doing it.

So... I am pleased to announce the winner! Tropical ~~☼~~ Sunset by baumaxx1 :D was the winner, it's unique abstract design and vibrant colours winning over the voters. Second was once again, Dr. Motor with Venom Volt, impressing once again with a vivid, hard tuned S2000. The battle for 3rd place was very close, with Tb3nz's HM-Z taking the final podium spot. Congratulations to all the competitors, the competition was great, with plenty of close battles and some brilliant cars.

Yes, please upload your cars now! Post links here, and I'll put them in.

Also, the next challenge will be an Underground 2 one, "Old School Drifter", which means tuning a Corrola AE86 and updating the 20 year old car that it is, and making it look cool. However... play around a bit, see what you like, but the next challenge will have to wait a week; exams you know 8-[ . But, after I finish my 2 3 hour exams on Friday.. I'll work on it!

The "CTC Hall Of Fame" is also improving...

Updated 18 July 2008

Sorry, a bit late... And unfortunately... this means half day delay in the end results due to my study group. Well, I was studying for the chem exam with a few classmates, so yeah, that went late, and then mum was working on comp. But, delay aside... I'll get it up! \:D/ Here we are at the final stage. 2 cars have managed to stand out. So, we go into the final battle with one well presented J-style racer, up against a very abstract cruiser, both very unique and stunning machines.
Also, the third place playoff is up, and yes, GReddy X, 2nd place in group 2 is there... up against 2 other neat cars. Check it out!
Updated 17 July 2008 (yeah.. just ticked over midnight)

Well wasn't that an intense battle! Every single car had the lead at one point, and it was Tropical ~~☼~~ Sunset and HM-Z through to the semis both on 11-11. The epic battle will now continue! Stay tuned! Also, as there were 2 first places... technically GReddyX is second. Now, I want your opinion; should we let it take part in the battle for 3rd place? Just tell me in the comment. Also, thanks to my CASIO CFX-9850GB Plus for generating this extremely close group.

Remember that cars are not to be uploaded yet, there are 3 days of competition left!
Updated 15 July 2008

Group 1 saw quite an intense battle, with everyone commenting on the quality of the cars in the group. The choice was tough, but ultimately Venom Volt will face the runner-up of group 2 and Gothic Racer will face the group 2 winner. Good Luck to those two. Unfortunately, the results didn't do the bottom two cars justice, and I'm sure both will do well in the showroom. Better luck next time guys. That being said, remember that cars are not to be uploaded yet, there are 3 days of competition left!

Also, a bit of a close call... I almost carelessly threw the whole anonymity thing out the window... one picture had the link to the contestant's profile, and one had the contestant's name in the URL... but I was onto that quickly... one I picked up previewing, the other... well, it was up for a good hour.
Updated 14 July 2008

The "CTC Hall Of Fame" is up... Nothing much initially, but with more comps it'll be cool.
http://forum.nfsunlimited.net/viewtopic ... 47&t=16357

The poll for the next Underground 2 Challenge is up. Cast your 2 votes.
Also, I'd like to hear any interest for an underground 1 and Carbon tuning comp, but those showrooms seem pretty flat. And, Juiced 2 is a possibility if it's good, lol.

 One car per user.
 Bearing the above in mind, you can change/revise your entry prior to the competition.

Correct.

And decals are allowed, I only mentioned vinyl restrictions. However... race car will be tough with only shapes and all, lol. This will be very interesting.

Oh, and baumaxx, when you mean screenshots of the vinyl layers, does that mean the list or the actual vinyls layer by layer?

What? How? I'm backing up now, lol.

How long did it take to make? Well, at least you have an idea, so if you feel like re-making it it'll be quicker.

What a great job by EA, mine never decided to run properly, yours forgets things... PC gaming has been neglected a bit.

Only problem I have with mine is that the save data tends to be corrupt whenever I bust the 29-Car Limit.
