Need for Speed Undercover Storyline

The first information regarding Need for Speed Undercover has been released! The key features of the story in the game are the following:

* Need for Speed Undercover is a rich, cinematic experience where players are an undercover cop taking jobs and competing in races to prove themselves as they infiltrate and takedown an international crime syndicate.
* Hollywood storyline
* Hollywood talent - Maggie Q (star) and Joseph Hodges (writer/director)
* Wheelman Arc
* Hollywood style shooting and production techniques

Additionally I can share the following information about the story:
* The player character will be an undercover cop
* Maggie Q will be your only contact with the outside world
* The story will be mission based

the graphics look really awesome in that screenshot of the gt2, but what im worried about is there might be more cutscenes with story than actual gameplay, and whether or not that means there will be no quick races and "my cars". but what would be really cool is if you could be just driving around the city like in burnout paradise and be able to switch between career mode and free roam with some events just lying around, no menus with buttloads of loadsing screens.

we are in the middle of august and still no new information. We have 3 screenshots and we know what the game is about, but nothing more. Is EA trying to hype it up or are they in the middle of a mess? :/

Looks cool so far, i like the idea of missions, as long as its kept racing orientated, if EA adds weapons ima bust somebodies nuts.

u sure u havent seen any modified cars? then you must've forgotten to watch the first trailer. i can swear that there is at least a modded evo x.

I don't like cinematic storyline thing.. like 'Fishwhiz' said there might be more cutscenes then gameplay, that will really turn me off from NFS really.. Unless they 'Wow' me with a awesome car list and new features and no stupid autosculpt and wide bodykits.

Am I the only one who thinks the storyline sounds eerily close to 2Fast 2Furious?

Anyways, the first thing I noticed from the new screenshots is that the art direction seems to be like Most Wanted's. I really liked Most Wanted's graphic style and daytime racing, so I'm happy there. However unless EA can create a really good storyline and new racing/cop system, this sounds very much like Most Wanted 2 (even looks like it in certain aspects).

from what i see, you'll playing a underground cop, so im sure you have to haul ass away from police yourself just so your cover isn't blown.

screenshots look nice, kinda got the most wanted feel about it so far.. but i hope they're working on more than just the storyline

the porsche bodykit looks decent imho so hopefully they've learnt to stop recycling crap bodykits all the way back from underground1.. also i hope that if they're going to hype about anything which they will it better be about the gameplay rather than an "epic storyline" or "city fog effects" for example lol

a good racing game of recent has got to be "race driver: grid". best arcade racer game i've played since most wanted, very refreshing style of presentation and gameplay and it didn't need any flashy cutscenes or compelling story to help it along!

edit: also even though it's not perfect, the drift physics in grid completely trashes anything nfs has had to offer. stick that in your pipe and smoke it ea

Since I couldn't run Pro Street, I'll assume I won't be able to run this either. My computer is out of date and the down shift on my sidewinder doesn't work anymore. I hope I can rebuild a new computer and get a G25 before November.

That bodykit looks like crap and they're using the exact same police cars from Most Wanted. Also, that shot with the GT2's rear in it is probably not a gameplay shot, but just one of their high-res cutscenes.

I'm hoping that by criticizing it this much, I'll be pleased with the final product.
