Undercover Patch Available

Post by Bojan »

The first patch for Need for Speed Undercover is now available. If you're on an Xbox360 or a PlayStation3, it will download automatically once you start the game.
For the PC users, you can get it on the official site.

This patch will fix the framerate issues, difficulty and other minor issues. There will be downloadable content coming in later patches, we'll keep you informed.

Ok, framerate is fixed (at least @ me) and no pauses! Good! BUT where is car damage????? I had to crash my car 100 times to get some scratches....and traffic cars were not damaged!! I also notticed that smoke effect is reduced...u got to burn out to have some smoke! Other than that it's ok!! At least no framerate drop!!

Wow I wasn't expecting it. I know it is already the second week of February, but I never thought EA would release this on Monday. I was expecting Friday.

Going to install Undercover, make some tests without the patch and then I'll apply the patch and see the differences. I'll post a "review" about it later on... stay tuned... if you care, of course. :P

Well, looks like a good patch, I don't see the white on the tires anymore, FPS is really stable now... Nothing wrong so far

The patch seemed like it didnt help at all. :( Its still choppy, but it may be because my computer specs arent the best. I did notice that damage issue, there arent even any collision sounds, just tires screeching.

cool, finally,i am trying this right now:D

..double post merged - GT ..

damn it wouldn't be ea if they didn't fix something and screw something up!!!
there is again white on the tires, framerate is fine i guess, like someone said it before(i don't have fraps to check it).
i noticed some issues with handling!my f1 is loose,i can't handle it,it wasn't like this with same settings!
also crashing into traffic cars is totally firetruck up,like you're hitting something made of gum :x :x
in most occasions u won't even get damage!it's totally iritating and it ruins the driving experience and gameplay :x
i dunno if im gonna play with this patch,im not satisfied!!! [-X [-X [-X

I can confirm the patch is out for PS3, and I've installed it, but tbh it's been so long since I played Undercover I can't tell what it fixed. The framerate does seem quite stable now though.

why is the lighting looking like a white crust on different parts of the car such as rims, tyres, lights etc? I have a 9600GT so it's not GFX.

"I like almost everything they did... The Damage seems to be more or less realistic sometimes & lightings in the Showroom were pushed to the limits as well as the Performance of the Game Itself... No long loading time anymore... Better Resflections => Ingame => Good Improvements!" 8)

PS: "Why don't they make a Patch or a Download Package as for "Vinyls-Extensions" or "Parts Extensions"?!" :?: :?: :?:

That's more like add-ons. The purpose of a patch is to fix game issues in terms of things like, well, framerate for example. Add-ons will most likely be charged upon each download, just like what they did with ProStreet and Carbon.

That sounds like a good idea for DLC they're planning to release. I'll forward it on.

And it just so happens to be on the release date of SRW 40. How ironic.

Sadly, I don't get to use the patch. Such is the curse of being a PS2 user. :(

well i dunno about this new patch, its not so good....

@bojan ask them to consider Bentley Continental GT to put into uc with future addon cars!
i think its the perfect ride for the game and is something new!
i think that most people would like to see that car in the game!
i hope its possible, but dunno about license, that would be a problem probably!
tnx

I ran the patch last night and it seems OK. Is it just me or the cars look sharper now?!!! The lighting is fixed IMO and I get a stable 29-34FPS.

Ok tested the patch on the 360.
There wasn't much problems with framerate before, except for the third city where it stuttered quite a bit. Works fine now.

I for the patch for the xb360 and it runs perfect. Nothing changed for the worse. Damage is still realistic. Same with smoke and lighting. So I'm happy :)

I'm not gonna be trying it out as I have Undercover for PS2 and I'm fully satisfied with it. In fact, I deleted the PC version of UC from my computer.

Lol indeed I didn't.

About the patch, I couldn't test it. I can't install Undercover... damn. -.-

The DVD has some weird scratches... I'll never lent my games again to someone I don't know quite well. This is the result... <_<
