Oh yes... come to daddy. >:D

...alright, that was too far; I have to call no-homo on this one. O.O

Anyway, um yeah... Need for Speed. I'm very comfortable saying that if EA doesn't supply on this one, I doubt I'll buy again- at least for a long while.

Pro street was meh, UC killed it. Honestly, the most revolutionary one was Underground. Graphics were pure eye-candy and the game was a lot of fun. I think the reason is because it brought visual tuning into racing games which (I don't think) nobody had done before. Underground 2 was also pretty fun. Most wanted included cops, but the gameplay was too arcadey and felt weird. Carbon was more fun than MW.

I'm looking forward to Shift, though.

I was fortunate enough to be one of the few people who actually got to try the demo of NFS Undercover during GCA in Singapore. Boy, was I glad I got the chance to try it out. Had I not, I'd have probably bought it blindly, completely oblivious to the flaws the game has.

Honestly, I'm not really buying into NFS anymore these days, although SHIFT sorta redeemed itself a little, for me. But I'm not saying anything until the demo is out. Anyways, I'm pretty fine living with Carbon. I'm still playing that game every now and then. The best part? Online mode still works despite some hiccups. It's almost 3 years-old after all. :D

Got my G25 from TEH EVIL POST135 yesterday, and despite the 6-speed manual not working on Gran Turismo 4 I absolutely love it. And surprisingly it works a treat for ProStreet as well. Been practicing with the clutch on a drag and I actually get faster times than even with a perfect run in sequential mode or using the paddles. As for Grip...didn't really work out that well lol. Those paddles are bloody beautiful to both behold AND to use though.

G25 is awesome indeed, I think the gearbox is a bit crappy and the pedals are too close to each other specially the clutch should be like 10 inches further, but they feel right and the wheel itself is the best out there.
Still rolling my eyes

Yeah the stick shift takes some getting used to but all in all, AU$300 well spent. Although like my DFGT, it's next to useless for GRID for some reason...perhaps its because unlike the other games that I've tested it on, NFS ProStreet (Which it actually works a charm for btw), and GT5: Prologue, the cars in GRID feel light and very arcadey. It's hard to keep them in a straight line with the wheel.

So sad; I wound up behind a Lancer Evo VIII FQ400 on a twisty mountain b-road, and he didn't want to play - just pulled over and let me pass. :(

I'm positive I would have gotten my bumbum kicked, were he a halfway decent driver, but it would have been fun, nonetheless.

Haz, are you sure it was a FQ400 cause it was only sold in the UK and thus only a Righthand drive.

Oh, was it? I thought the little fins on the roof was an FQ400 only thing. o:

EVO IX has those fins on all the MR versions.
The EVO VIII only has them on the MR FQ400 but I don't think it's very hard to fit them on a other version, the FQ400 also has small mirrors and some other small changes.

Also, I believe that all FQs are UK only. The number's based on engine horsepower, while the rest gets trims (GSR, MR, etc), all with the same power.

Is anyone here familiar with photoshop? If so, would you mind doing a quick signature project? I've been waiting for about a month and it's doubtful that anyone will finish it if I let it go unknown. Just click the link to jump straight to the thread and page my request is on, it's the latest comment.

Anyone know much about hi-fi? I just recently noticed that I'm getting a slight static sound out of the left speaker along with the music... usually most prominent in the midrange. Not that prominent, but noticeable. The speakers look fine visually, I tried fiddling with the connections and it helped a bit, but yeah, it's still happening on all sources.

About how much I thrashed them, I saw on the amp website that 0 is the safe point if you do not boost bass and treble... I usually stay below 20, and it was 24-30 when I noticed this (It's survived 6 before, but I didn't turn it up that loud) with some bass/treble boost. It's only in the one speaker. The amp puts out 120W at 8 ohms, the speakers can take 100W and I don't tend to turn it all the way up.

Anyone know if it's speaker damage or the amp stuffing up? =-S

Are we talking car audio, or computer/home entertainment audio?

If car, (and I'm presuming you have a full setup,) plug the sub into the door speakers' amp. If you don't have one, try plugging it into your headunit. If it's powerful enough, it should at least tell you if it's the speaker on the amp. It won't be loud at all, so it might not even help.

Other than that, you can also try changing the channels (ie. move right to left and left to right) if it's anything other than a monoblock, or you could always barrow a friend's amp for a day. Also ensure that it's grounded correctly.

...actually, now that I think about it, are we talking about a full-sized sub or a hide-away? (Door or rear-deck speakers.)

Oh, nah, this is home audio. I get a bit of noise out of the left... like a bit of wind rushing on zero volume while the right is silent too... indicating the amp might be stuffing up. Apart from the static, there's no noticeable distortion... although the left does seem to have more mid-treble... not sure if it's the mixing, because I notice that on the comp speakers too, but not the headphones. But it all sounds clean.

edit: One of the CDs I tested actually has a bit of fuzz as standard... it did it on the B&W 600s, Sennheiser HD515s both on the Amp, and the Asus DX on the PC, the PC speakers are too crap to notice imperfections, lol. Odd thing is that it does it on all sources on the amp, and left channel only.
