New car! Not the sort of thing I expected to bond with...
Most people would probably remember this old knocker, my R31 Skyline dubbed "The Cereal Box."
Well, that is now sold and in its place I have settled for this:
And yes, I had to go for pics on carsales because at the moment it is coated in pollen and I want to give it a good wash before I take happy snaps, but I picked it up yesterday, been giving it a few good blasts and it's actually not that bad to drive.
It's a 1994 Honda Accord VTi. F22B1 making 145hp/108kW, full electrics including sunroof and, most importantly, a 5-speed manual gearbox. AU$4131 driveaway.

Well, it's a bit of an old-man's car, but at least it's sensible, reliable, safe etc.
When are you going to get a real car?

Re: New car! Not the sort of thing I expected to bond with..
Sometime within the next year more than likely. I know a year is not really a wide enough space of time to really get to know a car but I have a plan in action and I'm sticking to it. Next car is more than likely going to be either a Vee-Dub Bora V5 or a 'Rex. Two polarising choices, I know.
Also, this was pretty much the best value car i could have possibly found under $5000 where I live. There were a couple of more powerful choices but they either sold before I had the cash (Mazda MX-6) or were interstate and would have no chance of passing a roadworthy in SA (Skyline R33 GTS-T, Honda Prelude Si).

Do an H22A swap.
Just kidding. Nice car. I've had a soft spot for this generation Accord for a long time since my family has an Accord wagon.

Well, I'd have kept the R31 myself
