Its bloody hardcore, when you start you will have to spend at least half'n'hour to FORGET what you learned in NFSU2 (if u have been playing).

Yeah that game is very similar to V8 Supercars 2, but I don't think that it's 100% realistic like GTR.

still downloading btw . . .

Edit: Goddamn f*cking piece of sh*t Internet Explorer. It f*cked up my download when there was only 5 minutes left!!! Now I have to download another 200+MB!!! AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I have now been playing the GTR demo heaps. It's the only game I play!

But I can't get better than a 2:16:8 (with the Lister). Has anyone been playing this game and have any tips for a good setup?

GT-R demo was ok.
I just have some problems with understeering.
Cannot throw the damn thing sideways, nor does my handbrake work :)

Anyways it is fun, and thats what counts, I tried crashing out the safety car for the fun of it.
But I just blew past him ;)
Fairly easy game if you have been playing Gran Turismo 3 and 2.

If you want to stop understeering then increase the stiffness of the rear anti-roll bar, and/or decrease the stiffness of the front anti-roll bar. Also you can decrease the downforce on the rear spoiler, and lower the bump/rebound on the front shocks.

But do you have any idea of your best time?

try rFactor, its a lot better than the GTR demo. GTR runs off a modified ISI's first engine. rFactor is their new engine. There are gona be so many mods for rFactor, its gona be awsome. If you like real racing GTR is a good joice, but its only GT cars. Try to get a copy of F1 Challenge 99-02 (got mine on ebay). THere are about 15+ mods and 100+ tracks. If you wana see a list of mods go to http://www.bhmotorsports.com and/or http://www.simlinks.net for mods and tracks. F1C is the only game I play, besides San Andreas.

I know thats what I can do.
But what happens is that the car doesn't respond to my attempts to start a braking drift...
Guess I got to try my EXTREME tuning on my Bentley 450 HP car.
Why don't I drive the Lister Storm? Well simply because it has too much power to be controlled ok during a drift.

How did you get a Bentley?

I've only got the Lister Storm and the Morgan Aero 8.

NFSU is arcade type racing. GTR is simulation.

Then it was the Morgan.
I am sure I read Bentley somewhere, maybe it was the class name, I am unsure.
But anyways it was an ok ride to drive, nice that you can let the Ai drive mid race.
Helps for long endurances when you need a break.

I know dude, thats why I gave a warning .

Anyway its all coming back to me now, switching between racing genres is a big headache. i bet next time I play NFS, I'll be actually using the BRAKES before all the corners.... :P

I've had GTR full version since late last year, by buying it from a German online store (computeruniverse). The international version is supposed to be released somtime in March.

I made a video of a lap at spa with the Saleen from GTR.

gtr at spa wmv

Videos of spa from other games:

f1c 99-02 at spa wmv

gtp (NR2003 mod) at spa wmv

and then the real thing, David Coulthard, F1 quaifying lap from 2002:

Hmmz...
Recommended Configuration: 2.2GHz, 1.5GB RAM, dx8.1 supporting 128mb gfx.
Weird, it runs like charm on my 512mb ram, barton 2500 (3200+), r9000pro.
Averagely 42fps on 1024x768 :?

Anyway...
Is there a car that isn't shown in the game??? It has EVERYTHING! (I can think of  ).

BTW if any of you guy's want's to download this game you will need a lot of help before you can play it. It has a very good security lock by StarForce.
But I agree about the game that it is damn great. I never experienced such realistic driving in the PC. And it also look great.

PS. by downloading the new patches you will also get new cars.

I will send you some screens of these later on.
