OK, then just tell me how to overclock my graphics card and i'll have another go at this 3d mark thing. I think we've got similar graphics cards, NVIDIA 6800 GT.PSZeTa wrote:C'mon, I need someone to smash me off 1st place.
But the CPU score ain't gonna happen cause i don't have a 64 bit processor unlike the new AMDs, and i ain't buying a new PC anytime soon, and it doesn't seem like Intel are gonna make any 64 bit processors.

It's a nice tool. When it's installed, click the small icon in the corner, go to Performance Profiles, then configure. Engine clock to 400 Mhz and Memory clock to 1100 Mhz. Run a few tests and play some games to check if there are no artifacts. No? You've successfully overclocked your GT to Ultra speeds.
You can probably clock it even further though, but I doubt it that it will reach Ultra Extreme speeds.

FIXED
i had a CPU overheating problem, and fixed this with THIS high end cooler
thx to PSZeTa for helping me point out the *real* problem...

well...
since im @ work on a shiznit comp, will run the test tonite @ home on the real PC heh
for the record, my specs are as follows, will edit this post with the results asap
CPU: Intel Prescott 2.8 HT, L2 - 1 MB cache [no overclocking]
GPU: GigaByte Nvidia GeForce FX5900 XT 128MB [no overclocking]
others...
865 MSI Neo2 PFSIR mainboard
512 PC3200 400Mhz DDR Kingston (256 X 2 on dual channel) [no mem acclelration]
the usual stuff...

erm... i know that they go down to 1/2 frames, BUT, the damed pc either freezes (picture freezes, and no response for over 15 mins) or it even resets !!!Sir Ibi wrote:CALM DOWN.....
In the second test, the animations slows down that's just the procedure, it will go down to about 1 or 2 frames a second at certain points of the test.
all the times i try the 3d mark...
freezes?...... check
reboots?........check
freaking crazy gfx/proc resource hungry application running?....... check
not-too-bad-but-not-the-best-either-graphic-card.........check
While the Fx5900 XT is pretty clever, its not "heavy" enough to run the mind blowing demos run by 3Dmark.
A bit of cooling should keep it from going poop. But I'm afraid the freezing/rebooting is the only way Windows can save your poor gfx card.
I personaly lost my faith in 3Dmark scores some time ago. If you cant run some of those benchies dont worry. They are just synthetic anyway.... Its the games that count

Do any of you have an idea of what test it is running during the freezing/rebooting?
Something like bumpmapping, anti-aliasing/lighting etc?
That will give a clear indication of which process your PC is finding hard and then we can match that with your spec to find the exact problem.
And PSZeta, how did you come to the conclusion that its the proc?

Just use the stock settings. You can't change any with the download version. I'll add the score.marshallpre1 wrote:ok not good idk why its not good at all... my 3dmark05 score is only
