Overclocked rigs

Post by EuroRacer »

Just a fun-topic... :)

I'm wondering how many people on this forum have overclocked their rig, and by how much...

I'll start of:

CPU: AMD Athlon 2800+
Mobo: Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe
Memory: 2x512MB ddr400/pc3200 Nanya (a.k.a. Corsair ValueSelect)

Stock Clock: 2075Mhz (12.5 * 166)
OC'ed Clock: 2375Mhz (12.5 * 190)
Max Temp: 50C

I've got a Zalman cooler (CU-7000B if I'm right) and I had to increase the VCore from 1.625V to 1.775V to make my rig run stable.

[EDIT]Forgot my Graphics Card

Ati Radeon 9600 256 MB (non-pro)

Stock Core: 324Mhz
Stock Memory: 189Mhz

OC'ed Core: 400Mhz
OC'ed Memory: 200Mhz

This card has also got Zalman cooling :)

I haven't oc'd anything because my mobo is crap for that and if i oc my gfx-card the graphics get f*cked up real quick.
Even if i only oc by like 5% the graphics in games get nice and colorful .

AMD Athlon XP2500+
Gigabyte GA-7N400L
2 x 512 MB Kingston ValuRAM PC3200

Stock = 1830 MHz (11*166)
Current = 2056 MHz (11*187)
Max Temp = 63 C

No voltage increase, stock cooler ... I should probably get a new fan/heatsink, but whatever ...

AMD Athlon64 3000+
Asus K8N
2x512 MB Kingston Dual Channel DDR
128 MB ATI Radeon 9200

Stock CPU = 2000 MHz (10*200)
O/C'ed CPU = 2200 MHz (10*220)
Max Temp = 33 C

GFX Stock = 200 MHz Memory 200 MHz Core
O/C'ed GFX = 280 MHz Memory 220 MHz Core
Max Temp = 28 C

both have voltage increases, and a SmartBIOS option adjusts CPU voltage and fan cooling speed as needed

Here's a "heads up" for all the overclockers. Make sure your cooling is up to it, or this could happen....KABOOM!

I've ovelrclocked my video card (Asus Radeon 9550 128mb) from 250/200 to 315/250, using Omega drivers.

I wouldn't push it any further beacause it doesn't have a fan :P

 That is some serious overclocking!

Anyways, I had to back of to 12.5x187 (2338Mhz) because it wasn't running stable enough: when running Prime95 for more than 5 minutes it just hanged. now it's been running stable the whole day playing games and stuff, so this should work for now... I'm looking for an article on how to unlock the multiplier on Barton Core processors, until now I've only found well written articles for the Thoroughbred core, and badly written articles for the Barton core(which I don't trust). I think I'm going mad cuz I remember having read loads of them in the time I wasn't really interested in them  Well, I guess I'll look for them tommorow again.

The processor is able to run at 2528 MHz, a bit unstable with Prime95 though. Won't crash with 3DMark05 and games. I hope I can reach 2600 Mhz when I got all of my watercooling stuff installed, I'm running it at 2480 now so it runs 1:1 with my memory.

My overclock is pretty good ( 37% overclock ), though it's possible to get 50% with a good one. Quite a few 3000+ processors are able to do this ( Usually only a few batches, my Winchester core has one of the worst batches )

BTW, I heard that the Barton wasn't unlockable?

Well, I have tryed to oc my processor but i couldn't go any further than 2150MHz (Normal is 2000) it wouldn't even load windows any further. (Specs are in the sig ;) )

But with the video , I have oc'd it pretty much using PowerStrip.
Normal Memory: 400MHz
Normal Core: 235Mhz
OC Memory: 480MHz
OC Core: 282Mhz

Taht is exactly 20% OC, I havent gone further just because I am a little unconfortable about pushing the hardware so much.

About CPU oc, even with the OC, the processor didn't score better in 3Dmark03. Any sugestions?

Just giving this topic a kick because I ''zomg megahurtzed'' my system.

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
Mobo: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
Memory: 2x512MB DDR600/PC4800 OCZ Platinum Elite Edition

Stock Clock: 2000 MHz (10 * 200)
OC'ed Clock: Currently 2850 MHz (10 * 285)
Max Temp: Around 48C or so.

Watercooled by Swiftech Storm. Voltage is 1.52v.

It's currently running at 2850MHz, but I still need to do some testing and look if it can go further.

GFX: nVidia GeForce 6800GT

Stock Core: 350MHz
Stock Memory: 1000 MHz

OC'ed Core: 440 MHz
OC'ed Memory: 1192 MHz

Watercooled by DangerDen Maze4 Acetal.

Older specs:

What kind of a Amd Athlon 2600+ is 1.6ghz with stock settings?
I don't think there even is one :?.
If you mean an Amd Athlon XP...
I had the XP 2600+ Thoroughbred and it's stock ghz is at 2,1ghz i think...
And the Barton model has 1,95ghz or something like that...

Hmm, I guess I don't know anything about my own computer then. Oh right, it says 1.91 Ghz.

So you're probably now at stock speeds if you have the Barton core .
If you have the Thoroughbred you're still about 200mhz short :P.
