Read the whole interview here. It's not just body shaping that's been improved either, right?
Michael Mann: We've also introduced vector-scoping for Carbon, which allows the player to put decals on any part of the car, not just certain sections. They can be scaled, rotated and merged together, plus there are over 900 to choose from, as well as 90,000 paint combinations, so a player really can create any look they want.

New Interview at IGN
IGN just posted a new interview with producer Michael Mann at the Games Convention in Germany, the interview has some new interesting stuff.
nice interview, we got more info this time
1st, four sections, each section has 4-5 suburbs, and 8 races each sub, that's 8x5x4->around 160 races in career mode
2nd, better drifting system. Yeah, faster corner entering, higher points and connected drifting, higher points. Nice~
3rd, 900 vinlys? and any shape and any where on your ride..shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit~!
and they are all customisable!
"Each car is broken into ten zones that can be changed, so a player can alter the size and shape of anything"
CAN'T WAIT~

He says it like it's something completely new, while other games, such as Forza Motorsport, already made this possible. Anyway, nice it will be in Carbon tooYaelDjiel wrote:whoa, nice improvement thereWe've also introduced vector-scoping for Carbon, which allows the player to put decals on any part of the car, not just certain sections. Idon't think they meant it was new in the sense that it hasn't been done before but in the sense that it's the first time in the NFS series. But its going to be a lot better not having cars looking like eachother with all the customization possibilites.Schumifreak wrote: He says it like it's something completely new, while other games, such as Forza Motorsport, already made this possible. Did anyone notice that he said 'it rolls onto the tarmac this winter.' That means that the game could be out later than December 21!Need for Speed Carbon was taken out for a spin during Electronic Arts' press conference at the Leipzig GC, with developer Black Box showing how the next-gen street racer will spew exhaust fumes in the face of its rivals when it rolls onto the tarmac this winter.
Also note that he said there are 50 cars that are ALL customisable, which includes the BMW M3 GTR!There are over 50 licensed cars and all are completely customisable.

November is also winter, isn't it? Anyways, this is really nice. Like I've said before, NFS:C has a lot of things that other games have already had. But this is the first time that a Need for Speed game has most of these features, and some fans of the NFS series will appreciate. I think EA may have finally gotten a few things right this time.
EDIT:
Whoa, 90,000 paint combinations? That's...a lot.
