There are going to be three versions released. A 5.2l V10 engined version (based upon the Gallardo engine), the 4.2l V8 from the RS4 (which is the only one on release at the moment) and a twin turbo version of that engine similar to th RS6Tuners Rock wrote:I thought the page said it was a Lambo engine.

Um, he was right. The V10 engined one isn't going to be avaliable til 2008. The 4.2V8 is the only one that' s been driven or featured so far.Tuners Rock wrote:I told you Countach! I f*cking told you. well, i posted in an audi topic, and told the site that i only like the r8 and tt yet you guys seem to think it is a coincidence that my two favorite cars are audis, and that i am talking about my two fav cars in general. if i was being general i would say my favorite cars were the ford gt and the shelby gt500.

Actually there are quite number of nice Audis. Till mid '80 Audi wasn't respected as BMW for example, but in less than 10 years it became BMWs larges competitor beside Mercedes-Benz. Now, I'm not a hardcore fan of Audi, but it surely deserves a large respect in Auto-Moto world. RS series are Audis jewels, even ordinary S is impressive mashine. The new TT even beat 350Z in overall quality for one part of critics. The A6 can without much trouble compete with BMW5 series, although most of people will take the BMW. R8 will surely have its strenghts. But I can't agree with price if it stays as advertised.

I think Audis are quite a formidable luxury car manufacturer, and their prices beat Mercedes-Benz by far. Eg. Audi A4 ($35K CAD) vs. Mercedes Benz C320 4MATIC ($42K CAD). Not to mention the Audi A4 looks IMO a lot better than the C class. But against BMW, I think that I would go for the Bavarians, because of their new styling cues which really puts the BMWs in front of the pack.

@ Glopaticki: Wow, I did a quick Google on that GTI W12, and even though it looks sort of like a riced/tuned GTI, it could trick a lot of SLR McLaren owners when it crosses the finish line first. Imagine how cheap that car would be compared to high-performance exotics. I'm guessing that it would be between $60K - $100K.

Well I wouldn't say that I'm a Porsche know-it-all but I have my fair share of info about them.
Yes, it's true that Porsche does own around 31% of Volkswagen, and according to some sources, it's because they don't want another party interfering or even taking over Volkswagen as it's Porsche's most important partner.
Other than that, right now the only interaction between Porsche and Volkswagen is the shared platform for the Porsche Cayenne/Audi Q7/Volkswagen Touareg. But a new Cayenne is expected in a few years which will shift away from the Volkswagen design.

Don't think those tyres are Continentals cause they are speed tested and stuff like that. Also he should have upgraded his brakes, maybe Audis ceramic brakes option?
