Re: Computer Show-off
Haha, they PWN. I actually try not to talk about them because when I first got them I bragged about them alot unintentionally. But yeah, if you have a 1 story house, you'll probably be able to feel the floor shake on the other side of it. I live in a 2 story and there isn't a single place on the upper floor where you can't feel it, and there's only like two rooms which you can't feel in in downstairs.
I'm actually wanting to buy a second set though, just because I'm the type that keeps going up until you either hit the roof, or break something.

Damn, all of u guys got nice computers, and I'm stuck with a random computer made by "Elite'...
It's got good specs, and I need a new video car-any idea which one? I'm on a $200 budget...
But, I'm happy to match laptop specs with any of you guys...

If you're good with a knife and have some painter's tape, spray paint 'em.
Other than that, very nice build.

Re: Computer Show-off
Just got tired of the insane noise level of my dual-xeon server. For those who haven't seen a stock 604-socket xeon cooler, it has an extremely noisy 60x60x25mm fan running (at highest) at 6000rpm. Even your neighbours can hear it at that speed. Though I admit, they do move an impressive amount of air, with the case side open you can feel the airflow from them (they blow away from the socket) across the room...
Anyway, ordered a pair of Thermalright HR-01 4U heatsinks and two Nexus 92mm ultra-quiet PWM controlled fans. And prayed they would fit inside my case...
And what do you know, my full load temps dropped from a toasty 80deg C to a moderate 60deg C. And a heck of a lot more quiet, I'd say it's about as "noisy" as an average desktop pc now.

Re: Computer Show-off
Very nice man, Thermalright is the shiz lol.
Re: Computer Show-off
I was about to get the Thermalright that we already ordered until my dad gave me his Xigmatek from his work PC. It was in first place at SPCR until the thermalright came along. Now it's in 2nd I believe. Still is awesome. He said that he'd save the Thermalright for later. =p

Re: Computer Show-off
Ooh nice coolers. I was thinking about getting one but the heatsinks on my mobo really get in the way.
You need to tidy up those cables though, it looks nasty! probaby not so good for airflow either eh?

Re: Computer Show-off
Look worse than it is. Once tied down the cables aren't in the primary airflow path. (intake fan front panel bottom, exhaust from the two fans right next to the cpu heatsinks and through the psu. The 92mm fans attached to the heatsinks both blow up toward and into the psu.)
Re: Computer Show-off
holy sht, android heat sinks. That is amazing.
And bogans monitor is ugly as hell.

Re: Computer Show-off
I realise that a plain black Samsung monitor is not exactly a work of art, but I think that's taking it a bit far . . . ?
Not that I really care what you think about my monitor, I'm just slightly baffled.

I still have my old CRT. It just sits on my dresser, ready to be taken to wherever my next PC goes to.

I don't like my Logi keyboard either. Lucky I only use it for text entry on the consoles, any more use and I'd be inclined to throw it out the window, it's kinda hard to type on.boganbusman wrote:http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/partn ... 9&cl=us,en

Re: Computer Show-off
I've had my Logitech wireless keyboard for probably about three years. Only two things I don't like about it:
1) It frickin' sucks when your batteries die mid-sentence
2) No media keys
Then again, when you pay $50 for a keyboard + mouse, it better work damn good.

Re: Computer Show-off
My keyboard is a plain crappy oem keyboard, I don't need anything fancy on that. But I do have an excellent cordless mouse, Logitech VX Nano.
Abslutely love the frictionless wheel. If I have to scroll down a long long list (which I often do) all I have to do is flick the wheel and it keeps rolling and rolling and rolling...all the way to the bottom (or top). Laser accuracy too.
