Graphics Question

Post by Carcrazy »

Will increasing the refresh rate of my moniter help WMP's graphics? No right? The visualations keep studdering slightly (I have an eye for detail in graphics smothness, and i hate studders.) I tuned teh card in the Nvidia Control Panel to not do any kind of special rendering, so it works better but there are still those little studders! Thx!

Did,'t think so... but what is werid is when I set my screen to a higher resolution it runs better (but looks like crap on this semi-old moniter.)

I can just deal with it... besides, I'll be upgrading soon! :P

Refresh rate has nothing to do with graphics quality or stuttering. It represents how many times the screen is redrawn per second. 60 Hz means the screen is redrawn 60 times per second. Higher refresh rates reduce screen flicker. Other than that, they have absolutely no effect.

In a way. Look into how CRTs and LCDs physically render the output, and you'll see why a Refresh Rate is necessary.
