New Forum Skin
Re: New Forum Skin
But who cares if it's easier to navigate? I still prefer doing the things fast instead of looking and trying to "focus" on where the heck is the reply button. The other one let's you post quicker if you are in a "hurry"

Try re-uploading it to nfsunlimited.race_invader wrote:
One question... were the hell did my sig go?
I think I'm starting to like this new them, didn't like it at first. I don't notice any slowdown in the load times. Also, quick reply can be added back with a simple mod, I've installed it on other phpBB forums.

Re: New Forum Skin
I shouldn't have to exercise and put effort into navigating a site. Everyone knows the key to a successful website is ease of navigation. So yes, even I do NOT want to exert that amount of effort but I shouldn't even have to. I don't understand why it had to be changed. Fine, I understand...the admins wanted a new look but don't move the avatar, name and all the information on the right side. Before, I used people's avatars and their names to see who posted. Now, I have to move my eyes to the right and then back...for every single post...and frankly it is annoying because I like a speedy navigation of a website...I do NOT want to waste time...and no, I won't get used to the new system because it is just atrocious.Jopuma wrote:So you're saying (in a nutshell) you don't want to exert the tiny amount of effort to move your eyes around the page to look for the "Post Reply" button? That's just lazy. I like it because it gives your brain a slight bit of effort to find things as opposed to the old forum where we can navigate it with our eyes closed.

Re: New Forum Skin
I've had two formats since I joined.
Anyways, this is not just a new skin. Bojan has been working on this for a while (I remember him having a test forum somewhere). He's upgraded the PHPBB software the forum runs on. That's why you have the new features like no double posts and notifications of replies while you're typing your message. This new version of the software claims to be highly customizable, so I'm sure we'll see some of our favorite features returning soon (aka, the Quick Reply box).

Re: New Forum Skin
I'm liking it actually. Yeah, I'd agree with the rest. The Quick Reply box does come in handy. I'd love to have that back. But aside from that, I kinda like it. Just takes time to get used to, that's all.

Re: New Forum Skin
Ah.. OK. Now when I click on one's avatar it'll link me to his profile. Cool! Oh, and by the way, the new look looks nice on Mac! Safari makes it nicer, somehow or another. Maybe it's just me.
+1, and this is my 6000th post! W00t!

Re: New Forum Skin
WTF GOING ON!!? >.<
Having to look on the right to see the avatar is just plain annoying, and where the hell did Quick Reply go?
OK, there are some nice new features in the UserCP, and the colours are good (non-blinding), but everything else sucks. At least make the format non-back-to-front . . . it's giving me a damn headache

Re: New Forum Skin
Ok 2furio and bogan just made the best points about this new system, also after pressing the Post Reply button it took 20sec to load!!!! now that's really slow it normaly took about 0.600 to reply on the old forum style.

Re: New Forum Skin
the main problem i have with it is that the names and avatar are on the right side and not the left. And 4 the same reason 2fuiro said..coz i used the avatar as a way of telling whose post i was reading and now i have to keep looking 2 the right and its annoying

the first few posts i did was orite n didnt take 2 long 2 load..the last couple hav taken ages though. about 20 secs
Re: New Forum Skin
I voted no.
reason, I think it's to messy, I don't like the fact that the username and avatar are on the right side.
It makes it look to busy.
And the overall look has a to clean high MAC look, wich I find way to have a high fisherprice (kiddy toy)

Re: New Forum Skin
Seems to cluttered imo... or maybe its just my head getting all messed up like when you have too much ice cream quickly and get brain freeze... I'll give it time tho.

Re: New Forum Skin
As I said in the Comments and Suggestions thread, I’m not too fond of the new theme. I really love the style (apart from the blue overkill), but the layout is terrible.... and hurts me eyes! 0_o
I don’t mind not having the quick reply box. It may even prevent people from spamming
