In my city( Craiova) at the news they said there wre 38* C but when i took the termometre outside it showed this:

I heard from my uncle last night that the heatwave is just unbearable. He's in Roman and he said these past days it's been well over 40 degrees Celsius. Normally the temperature outside doesn't really bother me much because I stay mostly inside with the air conditioner on but whenever I got to Romania, it is almost Hell. Most people don't have air conditioning in their homes and even at 30 degrees, everything is sticky and even if you barely move, you sweat like a pig.

Anyone know how long the heatwave will last? I presume this is not just Romania but probably Eastern Europe in general.

here too, a couple weeks ago las vegas got up to 128 degrees ( 53 clecuis) and in my region they are predicting temperatures in the mid to upper 90's with dew points in the 70's. walk outside and you instantly sweat. these are typically the hottest days of the year ....

Singapore's average temperature is maybe about 31°C. The most it has gone to was maybe about 35°C?

It hasn't really been too hot, here, despite being Southern California. Sure, it gets past 100F fairly regularly, but that's common, and you get used to it.

There was 41 Celsius degrees in Bucuresti( Bucharest).Now,it”s 8 a.m. ,local hour, and it”s 36 degrees.That”s very hot...

hehe.. It's 1:38AM in perth atm and its raining also the temp is 14.5°C as last updated..


Edit: And i have no idea why im awake still...

My temps usually 80-97 around here.

You mean 8 p.m. because if you posted at 1:07 pm on the board (that's Eastern Time), then plus 7 hours...it is 8 p.m. at night.

Yesterday we had a high of 109 F and a low of something like 100 F.

It comes up to 35°C in the day which is pretty high for this area, but with low humidity it's bearable.
Still I'm going down to the seaside for the weekend

They said at the news that 12 pers died today because of the heat and in the next days the temp will be even higher ...

Ok, here in Belgrade, Serbia (i am not Serbian, i am Romanian but i am visiting Serbia for a few months) there were 42C, and i am sitting here shirtless cuz of the heat. But you wouldn't believe what my PC temperature is at 47C and that's a Prescott (aka PresHOT) overclocked to 3.3 from 3.0, that's unbelievable i thought the temps will go up in this heat.

Well in Sydney its been the coldest for about 20 something years and i'm loving it. However i'm looking forward to the summer probably be high 40s every day, with heaps of humidity.

It's Winter in Australia so you are lucky.

Its become much cooler for the past 2-3 days, its about 49.5 C today at 5:23 pm.
It was horrible a few days ago..high temps, along with high humidity. You could'nt leave your house!!
Even getting a cab was tough. It was even hard to BREATHE !!!

It was 63F in Williams, AZ, yesterday, but the humidity (73%) made it feel like it was in the high 80s.

If 49 to you is good then if you come here at 38C you will have to put a coat on. And if i were to come there i would have to sit in a Air conditioner.

Celsius isn't the only temperature scale in the world you know.

Today it's cooler than the past few days.

It's currently around 93-95 F and rising. (for those of you who don't want to calculate that's 33.888889 C)

It all depends on the humidity of the air, the temperature can be pretty high, but when the humidity is low it can be pretty beareble, on the other hand when the humidity is high and the temp moderate it can still feel like it's bloody hot.

In June I was in Hurghada Egypt and it was around 40 deg Celcius, but it didn't feel that hot, due to the humidity and there was also a nice cool wind (relative cool) but even when there was no wind it wasn't that bad.

But here in The Netherlands when it gets near 30 it becomes bloody hot, and you're sweating like a pig, ok in Egypt I also sweat but it vaporises almost instantly so you don't feel it.

No there is also Kelvin
But Celcius is the most logical, but then the Metric system in general is more logical

Bloody Arizona and it's instant thunderstorms. While we were broken down (see 'Just Want to Talk'), there was a huge storm building up over the mountains and was working it's way around, and by time the tow-truck came 'round, the storm had gotten to the nearest town (Williams) and it had started to rain just as we were getting there. It was pretty nasty, the lightning was right over the town, there was almost no time between the lightning and thunder and it was raining insanely hard, it only took 10-15 for the water in the streets to get half-way up the curbs. It didn't get any higher than that, because it only lasted that long.
