Calling all NFS fans

I don't know about the rest of my fellow NFS series fans, but I'd like a title that goes back to the type of racing that the NFS series brought us in the past. It looks like ProStreet will finally take some of the racing out of the city limits again =D> by the video I've seen so far, but drift will still be required to beat the game. Sure the NFS series has always been about racing street cars, but the current form has been limited to city streets and dominated by rice rockets. Now we can't seem to get the racing out of the city anymore (MW, Underground 1&2, Carbon) which means without nitrous you can't even top out your car! [-X Oh for the days of the classic NFS racing . . . beautiful scenery in rural locations at TOP SPEED with short blasts through cities and NO nitrous, all engine. We had new and classic exotics, sports cars, and sports sedans and NONE of these 4 cylinder wannabe cars with a supercharger or a turbo (Civic, Cobalt, etc) either. :-& We've had 4 titles of the tuner scene, now give me back the real Need for Speed! [-o< Give me incar view even the first NFS title had that and track and gameplay like Hot Pursuit 1&2 and High Stakes!

While i agree with wat ur saying, i doubt EA will go back to its roots. It'll loose a large amount of its gamers by excluding tuner cars. Sadly now-a-days there is too much of a fan base on tuners and EA doesn't want to miss out on that. I'm all for goin back to basics, but sadly it ain't gonna happen IMO. The closest thing EA can probably do is limit the amount of tuners and provide a balance of exotics/tuners/muscle cars. Hopefully Pro Street will deliver a wide range of cars, because i'm a exotic car fanboy and japanese cars just don't float my boat.

Everytime I've been at EA somebody (including me) suggested that the next NFS should be something more in the lines of the original NFS titles. But so far I haven't seen any hints that one of the next games will actually be like that.
One of the problems sure lies in the fact that NFS started selling huge amounts of copies with the introductions of the Underground series. Why change the theme if the current one brings in a lot of money. ProStreet was a step in the right direction (toward the roots but with elements of underground games) and I'm sure if it proves to be a hit, EA will reconsider on ditching the tuner thematics.

correct me if i'm wrong, i think nfsprostreet will be "a little" something like gran turismo.

one, in terms of the graphics
second, the race tracks
and third, is the concept.

Supra and NSX are legitimate fast cars on their own merits off the showroom floor with no mods and the RX-7 is so unique it deserves to be included. Unlike rice rockets, which are bland little cars with small engines wound up tight with a turbo or supercharger and pumped full of nitrous just to keep up. They invariably have a trashcan muffler and a ridiculous spoiler that doesn't match, too. Gimme V8 growl and power from a proper engine, not a laundry list of bolt-ons.

I'm a big classic NFS fan also, and I would love to see more of the old style back but like said before, it won't happen as long as the Tuner style is still making loads of cash for EA, I do have the feeling that more and more people get bored with the whole tuning/ricing fad.

I personally love racing alot of cars, ranging from small hatchbacks upto big screaming V12's and large displacement V8's.
And putting them all in 1 game doesn't have to be bad, aslong it's done with some logic, and by keeping the cars seperated.
IMO, Forza 2 is a great example of how it can be done, it has cars ranging from Civic's upto Ferrari and Lamborghini.
And even though it is according to the carlevel system possible to get the Civic as fast as a Murciélago, on the track you simply can't keep up with it in a low class car that is fully tuned.
cause it doesn't corner and brake as good, and almost always doesn't have the topspeed.

I think if EA would implement a good Class system again, that has a fair comparision with the real life, it would improve the game alot.
What they did in Carbon was just plain silly (the whole game was silly) EA looked WAY to much at pleasing EVERY type of racer, so they put in tuners/exotics and Muscle in all 3 classes.
And with a bit of knowlage you know that a Impreza can't keep up with a Koenigsegg CCX neighter can a Hemi Cuda but still they are in the same car class.
same story in the other classes.....

I like to upgrade cars, but not in the way Carbon did, same goes for the visual stuff, I don't mind it but it shouldn't take over the whole game.
It should be realistic and a extra... cause IMO it is about the RACING.
