Since a massive exhuast leak was really starting to become a problem i decided to replace the gaskets causing the leak myself. Problem being this where the gaskets of my exhaust manifold. And in order to get those out, you need to take apart half of the engine bay to reach there.
Took a whole day but its done:

Again, great car.
Graphite Grey respray? The whole car? When? (Going to post pics soon, or are we going to have to wait for the next major mod?)
EDIT: Nevermind, that's on your "future plans" list - looked at your other topic at NFSCars.net. Colors don't show up here...

And since i was working on the car anyways this week i got the trunk all nice again aswell. new carpet on the woofer and new bottom/carpet too.
Re: Texhnolith's 1998 Nissan Silvia S14a (200sx) SR20DET
Nice job on the trunk... altough it looks like it lost all of it's usefullness
But you really should clean the paint inside the trunk (near the seals etc) cause it still dirty and dusty

You can see them (on the car) at the other posting of his car at NFSCars, before he updated the pics to include the Volks.taz947 wrote:And btw, what color are those BBS?

But if you want to respray the car, you should care abit more about the looks of it eh?

Thought that those were black. They would have fit the car well.

Re: Texhnolith's 1998 Nissan Silvia S14a (200sx) SR20DET
I decided on some new stuff.
Supplier still got to check up on a sandwichplate for me and see if he can make a custom dashboard for me.
Once i get the answers ill place the order for:
1) S14a Autobahn88 intercooler **
2) Silenced Decat
3) Autobahn88 Boost gauge (bar) *
4) Autobahn88 Oil Temp gauge *
5) Autobahn88 Oil Pres. gauge *
6) Sandwichplate
7) Custom dashboard (if possible)
* http://www.autobahn88carparts.com/STRI%20GAUGE.html
** http://www.autobahn88.com/image/front_p ... c-kits.jpg
Onces this has arrived and got build in ill get the chip and boostcontroller.

Nice bit of horsepower there.
Just out of curiosity, are you looking to drift the car, grip race it, or just have some power to play with every now and again? =P

I'd love to get a 240 to play around with. My parent's wouldn't care about it, but I'd have to pay the insurance on it, which mean's I'm not getting one ANY time soon.
It's kinda' bad when you can afford the car, but not the insurance. New driver rates FTL... =/
*Off-topic* Nice sig, BTW.

Re: Texhnolith's 1998 Nissan Silvia S14a (200sx) SR20DET
hehe sadly the 240sx has the wrong engine overthere. KA24DE 2.4L NA. Mine is a so called 200sx with a SR20DET. 2.0L Turbo. aka much more fun
Yea insurance is quite the booboo. got the car when i was 22. But quite some insurance companies dont want people under the age of 24 with a car that has over 150bhp. Hence I was stuck to one company that didnt care but was 2 times as expensive. So my first year of insurance cost me 1850 USD. Luckily I found another company that insured me for 'just' 995 USD this year
*Off-topic* Thanks, made it quite a while ago now.

Yeah, that's my point... I even thought of just not insuring it and buying a trailer.

Move to the UK. They're cheap as chips here and 10 a penny. The insurance on them isn't too bad either, so long as your over the age of about 21 and have a couple of years claim free.Koenigsegg_Rox wrote:Ah. There goes my idea of saving for an S14 then....

Or holland, not too hard to get one. and if you got a normal fulltime job you can easily afford one. I'm working minimum wage even.. then again I do still live with my parents.
The biggets costs of the car are Fuel.. (doh) and mods :p.. the day you get one of these you start pondering, what can I do with it... and thats where the big empty hole in your wallet starts coming from.
Hopefully my parts will ship this week. plus I did find a nice new spoiler gonna see if i can get that shipped from the UK to holland.

Im prefectly fine with the stock Garrett T28 Turbo.
Its a daily car so no need for more power then stage 1 (300bhp)

It's not really the initial cost that is the problem I can find decent ones in the same sort of condition as my R31 for about AU$7-10 grand, but its the insurance that is the problem for me.
