i bought this thinking it would only take about 2 months worth of work


then i found this

and so a proper restore/rebuild/modifying frenzy begins




replaced that bashed 1/4 with the free one that came with the car(been sitting for 15+years before i bought it)




tried repairng the wings with a few plates

and found more rust

welded in a new arch and new bottom corner


more rust

wasnt happy with the repair on the wings so i cut them off and sorted that hole properly



a load of primer to keep more rust away


and i think my welder is dying but i managed to sort that rust in the corner

moving house so........

at rest for now


plans for now are to cut out any more rusty metal and weld in nice new shiney metal then get a few mods done, mex splitter, 2.0 pinto engine or possibly zetec engine running on carbs, lowered on some nice 15" deep dish wheels, and 4 spotlights on the front

how is the engine's condition?

not to bad really, did a leakdown test before i pulled the head off and no.3 cyl was a bit dodgy but nothing that wont prevent it working ok, no1 cyl was full of crap and carbon but apart from that its ok

anyways heres some more updates now ive finished driving a ride on lawnmower sideways in the snow
this sides more or less done apart from the rear door being bent

found a carpet tht just about fits

and painted the rear panel and fitted my new free fuel tank


now im off to go and crash the vectra into some snow mounds we made with the digger
