I wonder what will that be...including some content that will make Need for Speed fans very happy. Something that hasn't been in the series for a long time that is going to make a return

Me too. Driver profiles?...
Anyway, NFS: SHIFT really does have a lot of competition, most notably Forza 3. I wonder how it will turn out in the end...

plz bring these classics back
wtf???Need for Speed: Shift: "Of all the 80 cars in the game, we've got full damage on every single car. The damage looks visually correct, and it affects handling as well, but we don't want it to affect it so much that you can't get a podium position. Also a lot of people don't want damage on at all, so there's the option to turn it off. It'll still look good, like the hood will blow off, but it won't affect the handling."
failure, no tiers...My favorite is the Renault Mégane RS. It's a new car, and you get it early in the game, but you can race convert that car so it's competitive with the Veyrons andKoenigseggs and stuff.
Still rolling my eyes

Euhm... EA did, several times...Split/Second: "I have, just this morning I managed to look in on those three guys. They all look like they're going to be stiff competition ... they never disappoint, do they?

The screen shots look so great. Hope those are evident in the game and aren't just to sell us on the graphics...

I can see Shift and Forza 3 as competiton, But I think Blur and Split Second has their own competition already.

Re: SHIFT head to head with Forza3, Blur and Split Second
Forza 3 wil absoutely kill NFS: Shift, and I reckon Split-Seconds' gonna be better than Blur...
oh snap
Re: SHIFT head to head with Forza3, Blur and Split Second
Forza 3 is only for Xbox 360, Blur looks...
However Split/Second looks sweet

Depends on your opinions of those games, though.J-J Studios wrote:Euhm... EA did, several times...Split/Second: "I have, just this morning I managed to look in on those three guys. They all look like they're going to be stiff competition ... they never disappoint, do they?
As far as SHIFT is concerned, I don't know. Maybe EA will have learned their huge, though not game-killing, mistakes from ProStreet. The only thing I pray for is for (1) those cartoon-ish vinyls, basically every vinyl from the past two games, and (2) those promised licensed kits.

Re: SHIFT head to head with Forza3, Blur and Split Second
Forza 3 VS Shift? C'mon.. Most people would download NFS:Shift anyway as a test if they like it or not. Forza 3 will burn NFS, like it always has and will ever since forza 1 i see no different. Forza 3 aswell hasn't really shown any other cars besides with ones in the E3 demo and then leman's race cars from the new images. There is alot more to show.
Blur and Split second to me are totally different games really, i cant see competition.

Re: SHIFT head to head with Forza3, Blur and Split Second
I find it difficult to imagine SHIFT beating Forza 3 head-to-head as Forza has a reputation in the simulation sub-genre and has a big following whereas nfs has only just ventured into this next-gen sim catergory so I couldn't see it surpassing Forza as top dog. Wat I can see though is NFS giving fair competition to Forza because it's shaping up to be a solid game imo
Re: SHIFT head to head with Forza3, Blur and Split Second
Forza 3 is a better bang for the buck.
korge
Re: SHIFT head to head with Forza3, Blur and Split Second
I think NFS shift looks way more focused than Forza 3 which makes it kind of unfair to compare the two. Shift looks way more focused on racing with a slight focus towards the modifying aspect whereas Forza 3 seems to play all the fields equally and appeal to a much greater audience because there are many different areas that one could excel at. I could however see Shift giving Forza some competition in the racing portion if you only compare stuff like the physics and damage and whatnot. But to compare full game to full game is just not even a competition.

SPARCO good point with the tiers what a pity if that's the case! It's supposed to be a simulator though so I can't see them not having tiers

I can. After all, tiers are for queers. That's actually not a bad move as far as I'm concerned.

Why is that? What is the benifit of not having tiers?

Re: SHIFT head to head with Forza3, Blur and Split Second
Well, you can race one of your favorite cars against a super car, as you can in Most Wanted and in HIN. Think about it, 1998 Supra MK IV against a Saleen S7, both modded to equal performance. That's my dream match right there.
Said it once, say it again: Tiers are for queers. They don't even fit in a series that has been arcade for a good portion of its lifespan, anyway.

Re: SHIFT head to head with Forza3, Blur and Split Second
For me it just seems a bit to unrealistic but I have to admit it would be pretty awesome seeing a Supra up against an S7
