Reader submitted questions about SHIFT 2 Unleashed were answered in this lengthy and screenshot filled article on SpeedHunters. Some interesting facts are revealed with a few new cars on the screenshots (like that Caterham). We have a few of the most interesting quotes listed below, but be sure to check out the full article.
how realistic is tire wear?
Tire wear (along with heat) is modeled and is pretty realistic. Safe to say you'll know you've abused your tyres. For pressures, they affect the tyre spring rate, and the across the tread heating, so ultimately will affect life of the tire.

DLC though? Need some more oldschool cars!
Hi Douglas. We have not announced our DLC plans just yet, but I can say that we have some amazing addons almost ready to go for SHIFT2 UNLEASHED.

Pre-determined liveries or what?
You can also make your own custom race livery too. And YES the logos and layouts can be mirrored from one side of the car to the other along with new controls for sizing and placement. You can also determine if the stickers/vinyls are matte or gloss finished for tone on tone effects.

Any ability to convert to 2wd for drift? Just curious....
We have engine swaps in S2U but no drivetrain conversions. The request is duly noted though.

There's much more available in the full article.

"The request is duly noted though"

Ok, obviously they aren't going to implement something this big when the game is probably finished/about to be finished.

DLC? Do you think something like that would be in a DLC?

Not that i wouldn't like to create some drift Evo 9's ....

Audi R8 4.2 FSI - why not 5.2 V10 version?
Audi RS4 - ok, but maybe RS5 instead?
Audi S4 - they can add new version of this car or something different
Audi S3 - the same like above...
Audi TT 3.2 - where is the RS model?

On this picture we see Audi R8 Spyder, but it won't be in standard version of the game, probably. Plan for future DLC's? Enough about Audi.
Now i'm waiting for presentation of Mercedes cars. There is 12 manufactures to the end, and 3 mondays till the game release. Most cars are well known and not too many interesting positions, but tracks are very good:)

Lazyness?

Come on, they were doing it for so long. Every game had a lot of stuff just blatantly recycled from previous games.
Which is why im going to check out Skyline R33 for sure because that one certainly wasn't recycled
